I'm pretty sure this is Montec G5. That is a 3 inside that circle. It healed up well and he looked really healthy and was until she shot him, lol.
Unless I'm not seeing it....what broadhead?? I see a bullet hole but no broadhead.

Sorry, tried to add 5 pics and obviously it only takes one at a time.

Looks like a G5 Montec to me. And it looks like it held up well enough to be used again, after a bit of sharpening.

This my fiancee Karen and this was her first buck! We had several trail camera pics and had to watch him for about 10 minutes before she shot him. He looked perfectly functional. If I had not done a skull mount we never would have known.
Congrats to your fiancé.
I've seen a few deer with broad heads in their skulls, and a few other places, too. It's amazing how well they can heal from an injury like that.

Wow!! On several fronts! From what I can tell, I’m seeing zero indication that he had been shot in the head with a broadhead, at all. Second, it’s crazy that the shot didn’t kill that buck quickly, or down the road a ways, from possible infections.
Congrats to your fiancé on her first buck!
I say Montec. Unbelievable what a deer can live through.
Wow.....that is amazing........bet he went through a couple boxes of BC powders after that hit. ;-)
Congrats to your lady!
I (accidentally) shot one in the same spot a few years ago. My arrow penetrated about a foot further that the one in this thread. My Montec stopped in the throat. Short blood trail.
Found out later that my sight windage had moved. Not a shot I’d recommend, but this time it was highly effective.
The skull is actually pretty thin right there. I’d call that lousy penetration.
Congrats to your lady on a dandy buck, especially for a first!!
Congrats to the lady huntress. And thanks for the story and pics.
Congrats to your fiancé, he’s definitely a nice looking buck! I don’t know what BH it is, but with that Allen screw, it's not a Montec.
wyobullshooter…..I don’t think that’s an allen screw. I believe it is a number stamp.
Rob,
That's not an allen screw. It's a stamp that is cast into the head. I have several G5s with a similar stamp. I suspect the number of the stamp indicates a model, or a specific manufacturing run of the heads. It's definitely a Montec G5, IMO.

Yes, a Montec. Definitely not a 3 blade Bodkin like I shot my first mule deer buck with a bow back in the late 1960's. It was a very similar hit at 30 yards and he went down like a ton of bricks. I erroneously thought that this bowhunting was a piece of cake. He was not near as nice as your lady's deer. Congratulations to her on her first buck ! Badbull
Thanks guys. I’ve never seen that on a Montec before. I guess it’s time for an eye checkup! ;-)
Thank you all for the kind comment and help IDing the broadhead. I knew there would be people here that could confirm. Good luck afield to you all!
A buddies bull
A buddies bull
Mind if I play? I’ve seen a few of these types of hits.
This is a buddies bull that came in on a trail to 6yds and instead of the frontal, he waited for him to turn broadside. As most of us know, they turn faster than you would think.
Any guesses?

Another. I’m not sure what this one is ( not my photo)
Last one
Recovered failures. No zooming in on this one….thats cheating. Grin ( not my pic)
Beerndare,
Your first pic is spine hit, probably towards the rear of the bull.
Matt
GG yeah, but whats the BH?
Beendare…..
First glance at the top pic, it looked like a nock on the left end of the broadhead! No idea what broadhead it is.
#2 looks like a Wasp Boss head.
#3 looks like a Rage
#4&5 left one is a Muzzy? and the right one is a Zwicky? (total guess on both)
Last ones are Ed Ashby heads?
1. Zwickey
2. Slick trick
3. One on the left is a muzzy. The one on the right is a MA3
4. I have no earthly idea as on the single bevel ones.
Here's one for you guys...
