From the 1/27/22 CPW meeting re-cap:

Elk

• Limiting archery elk licenses in Game Management Units 80 and 81.

• Removing OTC antlerless hunt codes for Game Management Units 14 and 214.

• Eliminating hunt codes EF073P5R, EF077P5R, and EM74104R.

• Extending the E-3 antlerless elk PLO season dates for hunt code EF006P5R.

• Clarifying regulations related to National Wildlife Refuge hunting permits.

So it's OTC bulls only in 14/214?

That's how I read it, Tom.

It could mean that those units will still have drawing tags for antlerless. That is how I read it.

I’d read that that as no more OTC cow tags. Not that the are getting away from OTC either sex tags. Which is what most archery OTC tags are.

If I'm not mistaken, units 80 and 81 have been unlimited OTC either sex for archery elk season. It sounds like they will become limited for 2022. Rifle remains unlimited OTC in those units. Am I reading that correctly?

Extending PLO cow season in unit 6? Did they take into consideration the 8 new furry elk hunters eating 365 days a year up there?

In Yellowstone, the biologists calculated 20+ elk per year/per wolf. That would be 160 additional elk out of North Park per year and they are working the unit 6 side.

In unit 14 & 214, they removed list B cow tags. You can still get either sex archery tags, but you can't kill two elk now. It was a good move, as the calf ratio is declining. Those units, are really high NR participation compared to residents.
