Colorado: draw dates March 1st - April 6th -- Results May 24th - 28th. We just purchased another point, drew the tag in 2020 (in the past has taken 3 points to draw the area, this will give us 2 points): with the small game qualifier and the app fee's,, total $95.67
Hoping we will draw WY with 3 points, then in 2023 (should?) draw CO.
All Colorado resident need to wait until after April 6th to apply. ;)
Just finished my applications. Elk, deer, moose, Bighorn sheep, mountain goat, spring turkey, combo fish and small game, and habitat stamp. Total $130. I always save the previous year's checkout page, so I don't have to look up the unit hunt codes all over again. It took about 15 minutes.

They'll help you "seach for draw tips!"
I saw something that said there was a $100.00 application fee on top of the small game requirement in the new regs....did I mis-read this statement?
Not sure about the $100?
For a PP -- The app fee $9.17, -- the small game qualifier $84.75, -- then automatically added on when you check out is the S&R (search & rescue) fee .25 cents and the WES (Wildlife Education Fee) $1.50. (that puts it pretty close to the $100)
All the fees are listed near the front of the hunt brochure, available in printed form or on-line at the CPW website. For NR's in 2022 it costs 86.50 for small game license + 10.59 for the required Habitat stamp + 9.17 application fee per species. There are no other fees of any kind. Unless you draw a license, then you have to pay for the license. If you want preference points, they charge NR's 100.00 per each species for Sheep & Moose & Goat. For the other species, preference points are free.
I didn't have the brochure, so I just went on line, the following is how it was listed on-line.
According to my printed receipt, I purchased the PP on 03/04/22 @ 10:45AM, for a total cost of $95.67, broken down as follows.
On line, the 2022, non-residence small game was listed as $84.75, I put that in my "cart", then added the listed application fee of $9.17, to my "cart". When I hit the check out button it then automatically added the S&R for .25 cents, and the WES for $1.50. (84.75 + .25 + 1.50 = $86.50 -- as sticksender listed).
I assume that since I was only purchasing the PP, that is why I did not have to include the $10.59 for the Habitat stamp???
Inshart, are you younger than 18 or older than 64? If so you don’t need the habit stamp.
OK, so the extra hundred was for sheep and goats and moose.....that makes sense.
Habitat Stamps go with hunting licenses. You’ll be charged for them if you draw a license if you didn’t buy one prior
To buy a small game license, buy a fishing license (except single day fishing), apply for a limited hunt, buy an OTC license, or apply for points-only, you are required to buy a non-refundable habitat stamp every year. Unless you're age-exempt, have the lifetime stamp, or in one of their mobility programs.
Quoting the 2022 Big Game Brochure, Page 6, Section 3:
One Habitat Stamp will be automatically added to your first Hunting or Fishing license purchase of each license year, if applicable, including qualifying licenses. Habitat stamps are non-refundable, even if you are unsuccessful in the draw.
Rarely does anyone read the Regs anymore.
I bought the NR, Small Game license 3 days ago and my total charge was $86.50.
Why was I not charged the Habitat Stamp? Over age 64 maybe??
Yes Charlie. That's correct.
HABITAT STAMP FEE ? 2022 Habitat Stamp..........................................$10.59 Required & nonrefundable ? Lifetime Habitat Stamp.....................................$318.08 Only one is required per person, ages 18–64, per year buying or applying for a license, unless you hold a lifetime Habitat Stamp or disabled lifetime license.
Getting old has its perks, Charlie!
Jethro, yup, I'm over the age limit - thus no habitat stamp, thanks.
For some reason I didn't receive the regs this year, I always have them in my "reading room" while setting on the "throne", cover-to-cover reading for sure.
