Two years ago us Bowsite guys saw this amazing picture of Ron’s 2019 Wyoming archery “Snow Bull” and now it’s on the cover of the P&Y Ethic. Those who know Ron’s ability and grit see this photo as his reward for perseverance beyond most of us. Congrats again Ron…
Yes sir. Top notch all around.
Congrats Ron! One of my all time favorite success photos!
It was just a matter of time…the cream rises to the top.

That looks real nice. One of the all-time great bowhunting field pics for sure.
Great pic well done congrats Ron
I’m betting some Fireball shots shortly thereafter! :). Great capture, Buddy.
Fantastic photo, and the story of that hunt was outstanding too. Ron is a legend.
Congrats Ron-well deserved!
Great guy, great pic, great bull, congrats Ron. Ed F
That’s one of my favorite hunting pictures imo. Ron is an elk killing machine from my home state. Congrats!

Great cover, great pic, great elk, and great guy! Congrats Ron!
One of my favorite trophy photos of all time. Legend.
Scoot:
I’m an eyewitness to how much he enjoyed fireball in KS deer camp a few years back! :)
I love it. I remember seeing the picture and thinking, jeez…
Yep- one of my all time favorite pics too! I don;t know Ron, but his reputation is stellar. Good things happen to good people! ;-)
One of the most accomplished elk hunters ever. That's a hard earned distinction. True grit is often rewarded.
Ron consistently gets it done and is a great guy. I've reached out to him on Bowsite and he was as welcoming of a guy as you could ever expect. He will continue to knock down great animals and will still be the same old approachable guy.
Couldn't happen to a better guy, one of the best field photos you'll ever see.
That’s awesome. Congrats!!
Congratulations!
I remember seeing g that photo on here when he posted it. I start day dreaming of a great adventure each time I see it.
So fortunate to have Ron around here. When I see a photo of Ron I think of a tough as nails, no foolin, bowhunting machine
Congrats Ron
Congrats Ron...Hope you find some fortune to go with that fame!
Ron’s a badass. That’s what my Son said after Ron stayed in camp to help pack in case I shot a bull in the bad spot we were hunting. I won’t be able to repay him but I’ll enjoy trying. I did carry a hindquarters from this bull. Ron is a great guy too!
Deserving. I think many said this should be the cover. Well done, Ron. You’re a great dude.
Awesome stuff Ron !!!
Cheers, Pete
Congrats Ron! That's a dandy..... looks flippin' cold.....
Never met that I recall, but bet I will someday...... when I do a hearty handshake is due. The man's reputation precedes him..... Bowsite is a pretty cool place.....
Congratulations Ron! Well deserved buddy:) One of the best pictures I’ve ever seen.
That is one of my all-time FAV pix ever.
Congrats Ron,
Robb
Ron that is one awesome pic my friend! The old adage of " a picture is a worth a 1000 words" is epitomized by that photograph!!!!!
Everything about and in that picture is great - congratulations Ron!
Thanks so much you guys, for the kind words and for the many friendships this site has created for me. This cover has been in the works for a year and a half. The Ethic features a different species each issue and American elk wasn’t scheduled until spring of 2022.
My friend Adam Miles is responsible for this killer photo. He’s not a Bowsite regular, but he and his wife, Mary are really good friends and Adam is one hell of an artist with a camera (or phone). This particular day was so wet and nasty that between each photo, Adam had to stick the phone down down his pants and dry it on his underwear. He’s always a perfectionist, the whole crew had to wait until he had just the right photo before he’d let anyone start breaking the bull down. It truly is one of the all-time best success photos I’ve ever seen, despite the old ugly dude in it.
I am a fortunate guy, to share camp with people like Adam and Mary, Adam’s dad Brad, Randy Giesey and his wife, Pam, their son, Luke and his girlfriend, Adrianne, their nephew Zach Cottrell, my wife, Carol and my own nephew Sam. Most of these people were there and put their naps aside and dived right in to help. I don’t believe I even got to use my knife. There were too many going for me to squeeze in. Randy refused me a hind quarter and the only thing I packed out was the head.
Had Charlie and Forest still been in camp, I know they’d have been there too. I am truly blessed with such quality friends and human beings. Thanks again to all of them, and again for all of your kind comments. Except Forest’s. He a dick! Haha. Actually Forest, that made me laugh my ass off!
Your a inspiration to us all Ron! Love ya buddy!
After reading the article in Bugle I figured Ron (AKA - "tougher than woodpecker lips") must be one of those "down-to-earth / never-say quit / stand-up kind of guys" ----- now seeing all the comments --- I have absolutely no doubt. Great pic Ron.
Fireball - tried it once, couldn't catch my breath until well after my eyes quit watering.
One of the best pics ever! Congrats!!!
Great cover. There aren’t a ton of people in this world I take their word essentially as my own, and based on their opinions Ron is as good as they come. T
Epic photo, you are the real deal, Ron, and a class act!
Awesome picture! Congratulations Ron!!
We are not worthy! Congrats and great pic and great bull Ron!!!! Thx for being you.
