Don't know if it has anything to do with Pat's story but many years ago (2005) I shot a male ostrich while hunting in South Africa. I can't remember anything even mildly "Twisted" about the event other than on watching the skinners work on the bird I was amazed to see that it was, to put it bluntly, "Well endowed" (See https://pdfs.semanticscholar.org/5ab3/607162ae4f4dd305d38a28aa047ac2250de0.pdf). Perhaps that is the basis for the rumors?

Every Fall, for practically a decade, I was fortunate to share a hunting camp with Pat. Between the hunting stories, the banter, and the laughter....there is one other aspect that Pat is particularly gifted at (when he puts his mind to it)......and that is his ability to tell a story. However, I hope you guys realize that by requesting that Pat tell this story, he may very well "Give us the bird...." .....and let's not forget, if he posts it today, it is April Fools.....
I shot an Ostrich during a hunt with Dries Visser in 2004. I had no interest in getting it mounted but it was included in my Crate and shipped to my taxidermist several months later.
My taxidermist was expecting a leopard, and a gemsbok, and was surprised to see the salted ostrich in the crate so he called me to discuss. I wasn't sure how it would turn out so I told him to hold onto it until he needed the space and then I'd make a final decision.
We both forgot all about that stupid Ostrich and two years later his taxidermy supply was calling their customers looking for anyone with a full Ostrich. He remembered about mine so he called to ask if he could mount and sell it? My taxidermist and I have known each other since we were in school. I consider him a friend. So if he could make a few bucks off my Ostrich I told him 'go for it.'
I then asked him who wanted it? he said - some agency needed an Ostrich for a video shoot. He had no details, but they wanted it fast and were going to pay a premium...
A few months later he called me laughing. He had just finished the Ostrich and sent it to California. When he was on the phone with the people paying for it, he asked what they needed an Ostrich for? They told him it was a long-length erotic film that centered around an 'ostrich worshiping' sex cult.
There was silence on the phone for five seconds - it took me a bit to process what he just told me. Then we burst out laughing!
So if any of you guys are on Pornhub and see a video of some freaks rutting in front of an Ostrich... that would be mine.
I ordered something weird from Amazon several years ago. The algorithms then pushed ads on me for a couple of years. Pop ups. Emails. It made me crazy.

The story is humorous. Ads for ostrich lingerie for two years would not be.
Dang, if I would have known that I could have made some money selling full body ostriches I would have saved all the ones I killed and butchered years ago!
