Just got back from a great Nebraska turkey hunt. Warning: I used a crossbow due to shoulder surgery last year and haven't gotten my range back yet. 14-yard shot, bird only went 10 yards at the most. 5/8th spurs, 6.5 beard, never weighted but most likely 19 or 20 pounder.

The population levels are definitely lower in N. Central Nebraska……But, unlike in other areas, they definitely know what is causing it, though!

I hunt out by McCook as well. The numbers have definitely been lower the last couple of years, but I've still been able to get into birds. Got this guy last weekend as he was sneaking into my hen decoy. Another gobbler was strutting and hung up about 60 yards out from my decoy and this guy thought he could sneak in.

My buddy is out there & tagged a good one on public + he's passed on a couple Jakes destroying his Decoy (he sent me video). I call him the Turkey whisperer. He took 4 with a bow & 1 with a shotgun last year in 3 states. This year he has 1 Ill & now Neb..
