More to a safari company than the hunting…with our chef out sick, the wife and I spent nearly 3 hours buying food the the next camp of six arriving tomorrow. $1350 later, we’re off to stock the kitchen.

Makro is where we bought these. It’s like Sam’s Club and is actually owned by Walmart here in SA. We buy in bulk here. Thankfully, we mostly use game meat as our primary main courses and we have plenty of that. Fortunately, we also have an assistant chef and he knows our routine. Shouldn’t miss a beat. Our primary chef will be back Tuesday, hopefully. Food is important on safari. Clients pay well and must be fed well.

Nash, our assistant chef is up to the task. A braai with sable steaks, potatoes and other vegetables, and malva pudding planned for supper.
