This gives an idea of drawing statistics/preference points.NOTE 2021 likely harder with point creep.Ex: note there were people who drew zone 4 with 3 points and it sounds like no one did in 2022.

I used to save stats when I first started applying for points. Here's what it was like in 2014.... the creep is real!

Total number of applicants for Zone 5 actually went down in 2022 compared to 2021 but in 2022 there were over twice as many applicants with 5 points or more.

Yeah and the data that they continue to inexplicably leave out, is draw success rate at the minimum draw level. We also don't know how many applied for a point only, and the number of points they hold. Both of these could be useful information. But I'd say we're closing in fast on 5 points being the minimum to draw zone 5.

sticksender, for that info to be valuable, you'd have to know what zone they are buying a point for.

I'm very well aware, but it would be valuable for trending. As mentioned, the draw success rate at the minimum points level for each zone should be in the report, but they never have listed it.

It would definitely help if they told us how many people applied at the minimum point level that partially drew. As it is, I go with a "worst case scenario" and assume that all applicants who did not draw were at the minimum point level that partially drew.

I dont think you buy points for a particular zone, only when you apply for hunt

Iowa's creep is slow, but there is still creep. I thought I would pull the tag I wanted in 2023, but the risk of planning November around the hunt and not drawing will postpone the hunt to 2024.

Thanks for posting the data.

Im still not sure if the late season muzzleloader tags are thrown in with the gun season tags. it seems to be.

Yes they are but they can't party hunt.Bow tags are valid in late Mlder but you must use a bow of course.

4 points was 39% in two years it will almost be zero. Damn.

I moved here from Illinois, my draw odds are now 100%
