I love the picture of that bull. His summer coat is impressive and the definition in his face is really cool.
For those of you in elk country, does the mane come in with the winter coat or is this something that shows up with maturity?

Bowfreak, the mane starts noticeably growing around the time the bulls start shedding their velvet, give it take. During the summer they look closer to a sleek thoroughbred racehorse, both bulls and cows. By the time the rut starts, they start resembling the hormone-charged beasts we love to chase. The mane will continue to grow like the rest of their winter coat, again both bulls and cows, young and old.
