I am looking to buy a dozen or so stick segments to put above my 20' sticks that are pinned together. In the past I have used screw ins for the last 4' or so but am trying to go away from them for a number of reasons.

1) i can get a 2-pack of the Game Winners from Academy that come down to $17/segment. https://duckduckgo.com/y.js?ad_provider=bing&eddgt=zwpDKbQsHMWcs5aNjDHnXQ%3D%3D&rut=0f810f4ff643886e4a8b94803fa9e63692fcc5cd92e9fb33593e64ec6fc8ddc7&u3=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bing.com%2Faclick%3Fld%3De8ZuAtzMdaFWRuVQpI6bHjPzVUCUzOLzHsf6wXoqrIwkScSskGU9drGGXzaaa0CK_rbs0saoD4UK1lVAv8JNw2Wl9XHZF1n8cAxCaP8JAGDzxPqblA6lgTQnMt2k4b79CgBZcoeWY7XRiACuWrqoca7l412fRFeW6kuVc5weoI5CkipthXTxTQcVn64c6mwSSZzLJz0g%26u%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%26rlid%3D319e15d3f26a16e0964d771330186db4&vqd=3-300787624932328118096628587284870727739-166103860894888872504607789963258910142&iurl=%7B1%7DIG%3D9A6063B41C7B49D9B0176CB6F66A6B54%26CID%3D23F0AE241077615F09C1BFF1113860E1%26ID%3DDevEx%2C5102.1

So cost is not really a factor since they are not meaningfully different in cost. Any opinions on these steps for leaving them up for the season? Any other suggestions?

I would like to keep the cost below $30/segment

I do not like single segment steps or ladders. Just 1 rope or strap left hanging all year can lead to a bad fall the next year. I’ve had one break on me 25 feet in the air and with blind dumb luck I slid 2 feet down until my feet hit the crotch of a tree. Walked away wiser. I just go with longer ladders now. 5 or more straps holding it to a tree. Use what works for you. Just do so safely.

You could purchase a set of full length helium steps and have enough sections to accomplish three setups. On sale for $33/ step.

Caribou - I take my sets down every January and then put them back up in the late summer/fall. I wear a harness when setting up and then run a lifeline on them once they are set up. I use a 20' one piece stick, but in these southern pine plantations it is rare that is enough to get me to a good backdrop, so I need one or two more on top of that.

WV - thank you for the suggestion. I just found them on sale thanks to your direction.
