I’m looking into an archery hunt up there, but there are a ton of outfitters to choose from. Can anyone that’s been share their experience or offer suggestions?

You won’t go wrong with Lloyd and Rhonda Gates…good priced hunt and big bear!

I second Lloyd and Rhonda….trophy hunter guiding and outfitting. I’ve been going up for close to 10 years.

TMac… I haven’t been since Covid and not having shots Canada told me there was no way I was coming in… real bummer. Great bear hunting with Lloyd for sure.

I appreciate it! Any particular week that’s better than the others?

Go early and compete less with natural food sources

Go late June… boars are on sows and are more prone to come in one bait. Big bears that is.

June is best, yes, but it's not in the fall.

I've hunted with Loyd Gates and Salmon River Bend. Both great outfitters. If I had to choose I would go with Salmond River Bend. Great hunt and facility. With that said I'm hunting next year for the first time in Manitoba!

Think of hunting bears like whitetails. Early season they are on food (May) and late season is rut (June). Choose what you'd like. Sometimes it's nice to pattern a big one on food, and sometimes it's fun to see whatever the rut rolls in.

I've hunted several times with Dave Cole at TSI. I passed on this bear, as well as several others, several times this spring waiting on a bigger one I knew to be on the bait. The big one showed one evening but never gave me a good shot. I'm leaving Sunday morning for another shot at it.

Crown Point Outfitters is a small family run operation that only takes a handful of hunters each season but they shoot a pile of trophy class bears… For the price you won’t find a better hunt in New Brunswick….
