Wow! This Ohio buck made a leap
Whitetail Deer

If you guys remember how much of a leap this buck made from 2020-21.
Look at what he is now! I passed this buck two years in a row. He’s always been a 7 point. He’s definitely a shooter this season.
He's just a pup...8^)))
In all seriousness, it'd be cool if you got him having those sheds... Would say he's probably just 4 years old...
Needs another year or two...8^)))
I moved to Ohio in ‘96 specifically to experience better deer hunting. Got permission right away on a 100 acre farm in a suburban area, and there were two 1.5 year old bucks hanging out together that fall that I came to know pretty well over the years. Watching them grow over the years was VERY educational - both grew to B&C size (based on their sheds and video). Browtine had 10” G1s and made it as a typical but disappeared in the fall of 2001; Spoontip was still alive when I moved away in the summer of 2002 at 7.5 years old and was an awesome 200”+ NT with a third main beam, stickers, kickers and a drop tine! They lived on an adjacent gated community sanctuary and only offered me several opportunities to kill them, but I muffed both chances ??
Nice one....if you spot him you should be able to simply stalk him from his left side ;-)
I noticed that too, sticksender. As long as Pat’s wearing his Sitka gear, sneaking in from either side should be doable ;-)
To me, there’s always an additional amount of enjoyment when you’re chasing a deer that you have a history with, especially over multiple years. Like Zbone, I’d guess him as a 4 yr old.
Naw, he's just winking at the camera. LOL
Nice history and I like the brow tines. I couldn't let him go if it were me.
I was concentrating on the rack and hadn't noticed the eye, great observation guys...
Here’s a pic from January of this year before he lost his rack.

My 5.5 from last year May have blinded him. They were always fighting. I bet I have 30 different pics of them fighting in October-November. Then they would hang out together the other 10 months. He’s been blind in his left eye since October 2020. I’m guessing he’s 5.5 this year. I watched him make a scrape last October and thought he was one year younger than the 8 I shot which aged out at 5.5. So he would be a 5 year old now. If he’s 4 this year then he’s a bad ass by constantly fighting with the 5.5. Size wise their bodies were very similar.
BTW, I know a lot about this buck. Like my 8, he would never go to a feeder. He was addicted to brassicas and only hit my beans after my brassicas got wiped out. He also bedded in two areas, one on my ground and also on the neighbors but only in the evergreens.
He lives on me 24/7/365. Just like my 8 did. None of my neighbors have a pic. I was waiting to get a pic of him and am excited to get the Moultrie video last night.
I sure thought you hunted BIG deer.
Personally I would get that buck off my land as soon as possible if he is 4.5 or 5.5. Might be keeping nice young bucks off the land and most likely never get very big.
