New insulating layer. Check it out at the link.
Game changer, making all of the previous stuff obsolete? No thanks.
Yep, definite “game changer”. Amazing new material combining comfort in cold or warm temps.
Bou is spot on “All Sitka, all the time”..
I do like the look of that hoodie. I’m not really a prude when it comes to cost of hunting gear, but that is pushing my limit for a hoodie…
Maybe I can get the Charlie discount.

nothing else like it, you can be sure of it.
not that i would buy it but the cuffs on that hoodie are a poor design. they're not comfortable and ride up your arm as shown in the photo of the guy over the creek. i hate that!
I like the concept. Bought one…it will replace a couple items in my kit and allow me to use a little lighter puffy. Seems like a really versatile piece of clothing.
You have to love a fiber with the intelligence to warm you when it knows you're cold and cool you when it knows you're hot. Today's technology is amazing.
Funny how they actually had to make it warm despite paying an obscene amount of money on previous models that weren’t warm!
Until 4 years ago I was one of those guys who would never pay top dollar for camo clothing. Then a friend pushed me to try some on-sale at Scheels’s Sitka for a bear hunt.
I have never been more comfortable hunting than I am now, and think the Sitka I have purchased is worth every penny. I sent all of my other camo to my nephews, on the wife’s side, lol.
I will not be buying this piece as I am completely satisfied with what I have. I still look ugly, but that’s not on Sitka.
There's a way to have a less expensive jacket/mid-layer not over-heat you - take it off and stuff it in your pack.
Maybe someone should start A thread about what clothing would people wear if cost was not an option
"nothing else like it, you can be sure of it. not that i would buy it " So how do you know it works and there is nothing else like it?
Take 5 Peco. It was sarcasm.
Thanks for keeping this post near the top. Sitka’s first social media ad buy in 2005 was Bowsite. They’ve been a sponsor every year since and are currently a Platinum Sponsor. I guess it works for them. The Ambient collection is their newest offering and next week they’ll have another neat upgrade. Purchase is still optional. C
Charlie, where does the fanatic lite fit in? I have the fanatic vest and coat. But, those suckers are warm. It’s got to be cold. I’ve had them to the low teens, single digits. Toasty warm. But, I can’t see carrying them for the 30’s-40’s. Will the lite be right for that range? Even into the upper 20’s early morning?
WV: I use the Fanatic Lite with layering until it gets too cold (usually around mid-November) then go to the Fanatic.
Another option would be the Stratus Jacket. Just depends on whether you liked the Cross Zipper (Fanatic) or straight middle zipper Stratus. Good luck
Last year, after using worn out pieces of clothing for too many years, I took the plunge and picked up a bunch of Sitka. Pretty happy with everything even though, now, it's all changing. Change is to be expected, so not surprised. But, I do have a question about the new Ambient. One of the pieces I got was the Kelvin Active Jacket. Lightweight layer for warm/cool temps or as a mid layer. Fits my system well. My biggest complaint about that jacket is the smell...it picks up smell (as in BO) incredibly fast. It looks like the Ambient would fit the same place in a system - lightweight outer layer for warm/cool temps plus a mid layer. The Kelvin Active is supposedly treated with Polygiene to avoid picking up smell, but it doesn't seem to work very well (for me). For those who know about this new series - is the Ambient less likely to have that issue or will it be the same as the Kelvin Active?
