Whitetail Deer

Opening day of archery in south Florida, Seminole Whitetail. Good luck to everyone this year!
Awesome!! Great pic as well, Nick! Is that considered a Keys deer, or are they not huntable?
^^^ No animal, in any state, during any season is safe from this guy!
Congrats Nick, nice buck. Way to kick off the meat pole
Great pic, congrats buddy!

Right on Nick! Thanks for kicking things off. Great start.
Good work fellas. Its almost here for the rest of us....
I thought this was a whitetail thread?
Congrats Nick!
Congrats Nick he is cool!
It's great to see somebodies out there hunting. Yeager that's one pretty Axis. Always heard it's prime venison. Nick how were the ticks in Florida? Not familiar with the Seminole deer. How's he for size? Jim
Wife's first Coues Whitetail taken earlier this week in AZ.
Congrats to your wife, Roy!
All great kills. This thing is going to start filling up again tis the season…..
Great animals everyone and congrats!
Happy to kill this doe here in PA on my opener this morning.
Bear Grizzly recurve. Easton aluminum arrows. 125 grain Magnus Stinger 2 blades.
My son took his second 180+ since December. Last nights cold front made the difference. He’s living right.

^....Nice Florida buck! From a WMA?
Way to go guys!!! Congrats on filling your freezers.
Blaine appreciated the kind words.
Funny thing is I knew my luck was bad so I rubbed Blaine’s head and tagged a bighorn the next day! Haha
I’ve had sone bad luck lately so it was nice to see something workout.
Nice bucks all! And nice other stuff too!
Swampbuck, that’s a heck of a Florida deer!
Shot the big 8 Jan 2nd. Shot the big 11 tonight Sept 26th. Crazy lucky, both deer were 6-7yrs old and I had a ton of history with both.
You got him! Nice work, congrats Tom!
Wow, great bucks.... congrats!
There has got to be someone killing a buck since sept 29th anyone?
Broke a drought for me. First buck I’ve killed on MY land. First buck I’ve killed in early October. First buck I’ve taken from a food plot. It was fun. First year of plotting. It’s been fun.
Nice buck, Bake! Congrats.
Pretty buck, congrats. Tough to do in early Oct....you did good.
Good lookin buck Bake, what's up with his eye?
I think he had a clogged gland. Lots of waxy yellow substance on his face. Clogged down In his preorbital gland
Congrats on getting a nice buck on your own property.
Oct 7th, I was trying to kill a mature doe and she never gave me a shot. and this guy kept taunting me. So the 3rd opportunity I couldn’t resist. 50# osage bow I made last winter backed with deer leg sinew and covered with rattle snake skin, bison horn limb tips. Doulas fir shafts. Grizzly 2 blade He went 70 yards
Jay, that is awesome! Congrats!
Congrats guys! Nice bucks!
Some great deer. Congrats to all! My son Reed with his first bow buck.
Lots of success already! Congrats everyone!
My son, Dustin, filled his Indiana buck tag last Saturday AM. October 8th and this buck was dogging a group of does like it was November 8th!
10-10-22 Montana Quick hunt near home on some public land my son and I had been chasing a 5x5 and 4x4. I actually stalked in close while they were moving out to feed and thought I had shot the 5x5 but ended up with the 4x4 from the ground. Exciting hunt and my boys packed him out for me:)
Great animals everyone,!
Way to go Reed! I can't believe how big he's gotten Dennis!
Since i have multiple buck tags for SC, decided to flop a 7pt on some public over the weekend. I like to shoot stuff too. Second buck with xbow. I like to carry it occasionally. Super long shot. 17 yds with Ramcat head.
A bonus doe in Minnesota.
Got a little doe last weekend. First of the year with my new longbow. About 23 yards. Good Eatin’.
Filled a doe tag Friday. She got the last revenge by dying in the river and made me go wading.
My oldest came home from college last weekend and tagged his best archery buck ever.
Congrats to him....that's a dandy.
Shot another dink in SC over the weekend. One day ill shoot a big one. But we will still eat this one.
Good stuff you guys! This thread should be heating up soon!
KHNC, those SC deer are not push overs. At least where I was hunting in the 90s. Primarily on govt land. I got lucky a few times done there. And finally killed an august deer in velvet.
Sorry for some reason not sending pic
Great animals everybody!
I decoyed this guy in this morning. He came in like he'd been watching hunting videos, very fun hunt!
Held off last year but he didn’t change .
Congrats to all the successful hunters. Some nice bucks early on here. Should start dropping like flies soon.
I weighed him before he was gutted…300lbs. Biggest body deer I’ve ever shot.
Nice buck, flatbrim. Why you crop yo head off? ;)
Congratulations!
He's scared. I can't believe he even showed that much.
My 14 year old sons first archery deer. Texas cull buck.
Nice deer Tob way to show your face!
What a year it’s been. After missing a big deer back in September. Mn public land kicked my butt all fall. Couldn’t get any bucks to come by other then a couple spikes.
Headed to Ne for 2 weeks of rut hunting and this guy came into a scrape at 20 yards tonight.
Always wanted a Halloween buck guess I am a day early this year.
Congrats on some nice bucks so far, guys!
I wouldn't typically post a doe kill, but I was able to share the hunt with my two youngest.
Share away, David. That pic is what it’s all about!
That's the best David, genuine
A good eater from Colorado. Oct 26th. Came to decoy and gave me a 10 yards shot at 3:30 pm. Hard to pass up. Good memories and wonderful table-fair.
Thanks to a great friend, here’s my Halloween buck. What a hunt, loved every minute of it.
Big Ole Wyoming Whitetail
Oh my....what a beauty, congrats!
Nice deer guys!! Congrats Kyl and son. David those two look like they can hunt. Nice Michigan buck. Pretty good buck for Florida Nick. And per usual, some big ones.
Well I am tagged out in Ne. 55 degrees this morning and this guy come slipping along the creek bottom down wind of a bedding area just before sunrise. When he rounded the bend in the creek I had him at 20 yards. Double lung hit and he was down 80 yards from the tree. Only problem that occurred is an 8 pointer pushed a doe right into me and they had me pinned down for a half hour until the doe squirted by the buck and they both were heading west.
Great buck, Eyad! Congrats again, buddy! What did that toad weigh?
Dang Eyad!!! Congrats what a toad!
Harvested this mature 5.5+ today at 7:30am. He was locked on a doe. She walked by me and so did he. 30 yard shot. I was getting very frustrated with this heat as of lately. I took this week off opposed to next week. I felt like I was missing too much of the early action. Well it paid off.
let this buck pass twice, third time I decided to take him! 10 yrds. complete pass through, went about 40 yrds and piled up!At 73 yrs old and still tromping the woods, shooting trad. for 60 yrs. and ain't stoppen now!
Shot a little one last night , he didn't die before last light so I left him and Mr Coyote found him. Still salvaged some meat off of him.
Kansas taken on 11/5, Magnus Black Hornet and 45 yard recovery
I have a thing for big six points. Could not let him pass. Holoween afternoon.
11/8 Michigan Magnus snuffer ss. Broke the opposite leg and had complete penetration.
Great deer everybody!
I put this one down this evening. I almost shot a smaller one this morning but he took off after some does and I didn't get a shot. I'm glad now that I didn't. Man I love November!
After a pretty slow rut hunt in the stand I decided to head for the hills. Spot and stalk on this whitetail was pretty cool!
Yeah it’s a gun kill, but it’s all I have this year. WY
A fathers love.
My hunting spot is 2.5 hours away from me and about 5 minutes from my son. Told him to hunt my ladder stand everything was perfect for that spot. I wouldn’t be able to hunt until Saturday. Later that afternoon I got this picture. His PB so far.
Great stuff here! This one from Nov 6
November 6. 3 years of history with him. Was a clean 6 this year added the second beam and g3
Indiana, November 5th...forecast said up to 50mph wind gusts...and I believe it! Hunted a huge lone polar tree on a field edge. After an hour on stand, I second guessed my sanity and was preparing to climb down when this 10pt made an appearance.
Oct 30th. Manitoba. Came to rattling and shot at 8 yds. Piled up at 60. My PB whitetail buck.
Oct 30th. Manitoba. Came to rattling and shot at 8 yds. Piled up at 60. My PB whitetail buck.
11/11 at 9a.m. Both main beam tips are broken off and both ears were cut and bleeding. Not a giant by any means but I wasn't going to let him walk by at 20 yards and regret it later.
Punched my SD tag on the last evening of the hunt.
Congrats Chad, good to see ya back! And congrats to everyone else as well. Noah doesn't have much time to hunt as he's a typical teenager and busy with school and sports. But we were able to spend the day together in the tree. He was able to experience his first double. This kid is so cool under pressure. When it's his turn to arrow a big buck I have no doubt he'll get the job done!
Tks David (ratrling_junkie) Congrats to Noah! Great job. A double is sweet success. Tags filled in one sit! Haven't left, just lurking more and couldn't post for a long time. Lost my pin and couldn't register again as BuckSlayer. I guess evough time had lapsed that I could sign up again as a new member and get my old "gamer tag" back lol
11/12 1130am. Crazy day, dubbed it bucknado. Deflected and missed a bigger one about a half hour before he came in.
6yr old buck
6yr old buck
Filled my buck and doe tag during the same morning hunt in Northern Wisconsin. Buck only went 75 yards but doe was hit through one lung and the liver and went nearly 200 yards.
My 13yo got his buck this morning. Slow morning, he came in and spent 2-3 minutes trashing a tree then 1/4 turned away and smack. He passed on a few bucks of this caliber wanting something bigger, but today was his last hunt before the guns come out next weekend and he wanted blood. 15yd shot, 40 yd recovery. Top of heart shot. The kids is a sniper, he gives credit to video games, lol.
Congratulations to your boy Dave B!
He is definitely a sniper! Well done.
Man some absolute dandies on here again this year!! Congrats to all who had great days in the woods and fields!
Starting to roll in now. Congrats on some nice bucks, guys!
REALLY nice deer guys. Thanks for sharing!
What’s up with Ksflatlander Not showing his face? What’s he scared of?
RK……..I think that Ksflatliner (aka Ryan Hrabe) is just shy.
An old Bowsite member with a tank Manitoba bigwoods deer! I was fortunate to help recover and take pictures of Ryan with his buck.
Wow. That is the deer of the year right there. Love the mass and the dark rack!
T-Roy. Yea mAybe Just curious that if crime is down nationwide as ks thinks it is why in the world wound he be worried about posting his picture. Makes no sense
My 1st Sunday PA buck. 125gr Vortex broadhead

That Manitoba buck, oh good lord.
Wow! What a buck! Those Canadian bucks are so impressive!
6pt with 16" inside spread. Rockland County, NY (3R). 11/12/22. 27 yard shot.
What's more impressive is Ryan sat for 8 days and saw 4 deer. Temps here have been in the -8 to -12 range every day for over a week. That's dedication. A guy will go squirrelly hunting like that. He gets it done.
t-roy- LOL I’m flattered but that one has already been tried…go fish.

New York Deer, Veterans Day Buck 2022
That’s “Manitoba Bohuntr” with that tank! Congratulations, Ryan!
Hit this buck yesterday at noon chasing little bucks and looking for does……he bled profusely for 100 yards and plugged off. Gave him 3 hours and probably bumped him as I lost blood trail. Got lucky and spotted him and could have backed out overnight but the coyotes……..I ended up missing him on a follow up shot and my buddy spotted him go another 300 yards and disappear into a cut. Recovered him this morning but the darn coyotes ate part of him. 5.5 year old buck that gave me the slip last fall in Kansas.
I just looked at all of the great bucks. Nice to see all of the success and some huge bucks. Congratulations to all. Here is one I shot in Ohio on 11/14.
SD buck

Bow buck in rifle season. Snort wheeze turned him after he was past me at 85 yards and walked right to me. Shot at 21 yards.
He tried to hide underwater but it didn’t quite work out for him
Greene County Illinois 11/14
Congrats everyone! I love seeing all the deer, big, little, doe, kids and first timers. But I also get a kick out of seeing all the regional differences in the deer. Long thin noses, short fat noses, and coloration differences. My dad sends pics of friends back in Michigan with there deer and the differences between them and the deer I shoot now in Nebraska and Colorado is cool to see.
The last Minnesota deer I shot was in 2006.
Having tagging out in Nebraska and going home with needing to get back to work. I decided to hunt pretty hard this weekend since gun season ended last weekend.
Grunted this guy into 15 yards. Waited for him to turn and when he cleared a limb he was 20 yards quartering away. Double lung and he was down 60 yards from the tree.

October 15th, 30-yard shot, 100-yard recovery. He came out under a trail cam into my food plot. The next day I went out to see if anything had been on the gut pile - it was completely gone - even the green goop from the stomach.
Pulled the chip from my trail cam - it showed the buck come out, but only went for the 30 second vid. Then 4 hours later showed 5 timber wolves on the cam.
Damn! Lots of great bucks! Guess I need to go whitetail hunting again one of these days…
Congrats to all still waiting for one.
My son Mason. Made a great shot, 30 yard recovery. Long cold sits paid off.
His twin brother Smith did the same the following morning. Proud of these guys and happy to see their hard work pay off. Long cooold MT sits.

Photos not working well for me today.
Mason and Smith, Great job boys!
Great job Dad on guiding!
Manitoba, November 21, 3:30 pm. Athens Vista 33, Easton FMJ arrows with a Snyper and Rocket. Both pass throughs, the deer went down in 80 yards or so.

Been a tough year for me. Shot this one a few weeks ago after a miss on a really nice 4x4. Basinboy, should have had my bow in the picture. You would think we are shooting the same bow (mine is a Lonesome Wind longbow).
I shot this one on Monday. He was trotting across a wheat field when I first saw him, a couple aggressive grunts and a couple minutes later he was 10 yards from my tree. After the shot he ran 100 yards or so, stood there for what seemed like an eternity, and then finally tipped over. He grossed 181 1/8", my best buck to date.
Definitely some real nice bucks being taken as November progresses. Congratulations again.
Beautiful buck CJE, lots of character, luv it, CONGRATS!!!
Finally after a long elk, moose and deer season! Shit shot, long blood trail, snow saved my Azz
IL 11/25 Tracking experience can really pay off when you make a questionable shot. The body seemed pretty small (until I had to drag it up the hill).
Side note: Never noticed before, but KUIU may have stole the Vias pattern from the old Cabelas stand hunter.
Not exactly a meat pole but this is how us old guys get them to the meat pole. I am a meat hunter and let a buck pass to shoot this large doe. There are two orphans now. Have a couple large bucks in the area and may hunt one later in the year.
Great bucks everyone! Thanks for sharing your success photos.
Kansas- Spot and Stalk, Public Land, WIHA.
Some great bucks, guys! Congrats on your success!
Try again. Image tool doesn't seem to work?
Great kills guys! Some huge bucks! Congratulations!
3.5 weeks worth of focus on this guy and he slipped up. Blessed for yet another fantastic season!
Bitterroot river extra buck tag…….compliments of “the boys”
The “Boyz n the Woodz” crew
Damn Jeff! Looks like a good one? Congrats
Congrats on all the deer and there’s clearly a world record above for the most hunters in a whitetail picture. Good times with friends nothing beats that.
The "Boyz n the Woodz" are LEGIT!
Congrats Mike, that's awesome. You guys got that dialed.
Arrowed this one here in Indiana, on the final day of our 16-day firearms season, Sunday 11/27.

Congratulations to all the hunters who put in the effort and scored for doing so!!
Mike - Way to “get er done!” Seriously, no un filled tags in your pockets. Congrats
Thanks! Yeah I filled 4 buck tags this year, 3 bow and one rifle.
Hunting by themselves at 7 and 9 since I had work to do. 150 yard shot. Few more years and they won’t even need me to help load them!!!
And yes, I know it’s bowsite, but……..
Congrats Chad! Patience and determination. And congrats to Shiloh's two boys. Like the independence and motivation.
What a nice buck noguts, and I love that picture.
Great bucks all! I loved Rattling Junkies pic a ways up with the skull strapped to his pack! Cool pic
Great bucks all! I loved Rattling Junkies pic a ways up with the skull strapped to his pack! Cool pic
Great pics guys.
Wow 9 and 7 without adult supervision that’s awesome. They did it with their old man present.
Ha!! Fortunately we have some places they can go really close to the house. They have some strict rules they have to abide by or they lose privileges for a long time. So far they’ve done pretty good.
In it for long run in Kansas!
In it for long run in Kansas!
My daughter connected on a nice late season buck!! Cold!!
Congrats late season is no joke...
Great job, Maddie!! Early Christmas present!
Some fine bucks! Congratulations everyone. My favorite pic is that snow pic, wow!
This is a sign that you have too many coyotes. Coyotes jumped this liver hit buck from his bed. Next morning this is what was left. Daughter cancelled her second tag and called it a year.
Damn, Harlin! Time to get the traps out or the thermal scope. Good job to Maddie though.
That's one long soup bone beav!
Chasing whitetails is something I have missed dearly this year. Was able to make it home for Christmas and managed to squeeze in some hunting. This buck was just icing on the cake.
The Nebraska whitetails thought they were somewhat safe this year with Zach in Alaska…..not the case. Nice buck man
Good stuff Zach! Glad you made it home!
Tough to follow up my 2021 dream buck, but after passing many during the rut, connected on my latest buck ever mid-December on Illinois public.
You folks getting it done late have my respect! Well done!
Looks likes kids coming home for Christmas cost a few more deer their lives! Nice work all!
Been a long, tough season…Lots of cold, sub zero sits. Decided to do a last minute hunt tonight and it came together.
Beautiful buck Kota-man....looks like hanging in there paid off nicely!
Congrats Cory! Glad all that freezing to death paid off!
Cory, looks like you were hunting tundra whitetails! Nice job!
This thread began in Florida and now is in North Dakota. Whities rule.
Last evening of the ND bow season
