My buddy Dave and his wife are rolling west from MO and we will meet up about this time tomorrow in Laramie before heading back to find them a campsite. Then we will be scouting Sat and Sun. Excited to see my hunting buddy and to get boots on the ground with him in this "new to us" area. Then hot soaks in Saratoga. Good times!
Then come Aug 31st I will be rolling back north to WY to meet Dave and his son on their type 9 elk hunt for 4 days before running back to CO and up good ole Coffee Pot Road to meet my other buddy Greg and his son for their OTC unit 34 elk hunt.
Hoping my Canon D90 gets a good workout! Not going to miss packing the bow.

Jordan, simply awesome photos, great memory builders with great friends. It doesn't get much better than that! Good luck this year!

I helped pack that unit 18 beast out...using that prodigious gut to counterbalance. I fell down in a hole at one point and thought I'd never get up and going again.

Another big unit 18 bull....also shot by a bud off BS from out east.....these two were both shot the same day within 500 yards or so of one another. First day of bugling.

Solo bivy at 10K after hiking down from 11K into a nasty hole in 39 on a banzai return trip following a week hunting down below. I had a bull with a nice herd bellowing non stop all the way down which I promptly chased around for 4 hours. A blast!

Everyone have a great season...its almost here. Good Luck!
Great pics Jordan. Thanks for sharing and good luck.
good pics. always good to reminisce
Good luck this year Jordan!
Great pics it’s getting to be that time isn’t it..
Yup, always fun to look at "ELK" pics, especially this time of year. Will have a few days chasing elk by this date next month!!!!!!!!!
An exciting time of year. In my garage shooting my bow and sorting through all my backpacking gear right now. Lots of water this spring and early summer where I elk hunt, so there should be some great bulls.
Good luck this year and keep posting as your season goes on!
Great photos Jordan. I know I said it last year but this has to be your year man! How’s your back doing?
Back was bad several weeks ago but more better now. I am not a shooter this year, at least not with a pointy stick. I'm caller/camera monkey.
Had a great scouting session with my buddy David this weekend. The cam I hunt back on July 2nd had a real nice bull on it and several others. We hung another cam just a little further down the skid trail on a game trail and 2 days later had more bulls.
We hiked up to a hillside full of seeps.....over a mile long and interspersed with timber on and off. Ranged from 20 yards wide to a 100 yards wide. At the tope were several wallows....not used yet this year but I am sure that will change in a week or two.....bulls all have velvet too.
My buddy got up this morning and came out of the camper to a meadow full of elk, including one nice bull. He crept up toward them and had 3 cows come down off the hillside....one nearly stepped on him.
So we are feeling optimistic for his hunt.

Dang man sounds like it’s going to be a good season! Nice pictures, beautiful county. Good luck sir!
I thought I uploaded the game cam pics to my phone....but I can't find them now. And BS won't let me post a pic in upright position or to fix them once posted. ugh
