Has anyone been on a late season moose hunt? I friend and me are looking for a late season Canadian moose hunt. We're concerned about size.

Size matters.

Late is better than too early. Seeing and finding a moose is easier and moose also respond to the secondary rut for cows that weren't bred. too early usually before the fourth week in September, the bulls don't move much. In Canada the cover is thick and a stationary moose hard to spot, so after the leaves drop they stand out.

How late are we talking and where?
I assume you are trying to time it around the rut to be able to call a bull in???

Sorry we aren't concerned about the size of the bulls.

I went first week of November in Newfoundland. It was awful. Saw 3 cows and 4 calves. No a single bull or much sign for that matter.

I shot one October 8 last year. I was the last hunter and wouldn’t want to go later as it was starting to get miserable cold. My hunt was northern BC.
