Who can tell me what this is?
Is it a fossil
Is it a fossil
Found this in my food plot this morning. What the heck is it?
Petrified wood, possibly.?
Prehistoric button buck shed
Tusk of a baby woolly mammoth of course.
Piece of timber that has been preserved longer than it should have been
Tree knot....just a guess.
Whatever you wish to to be.
Snap a pic a day send it to the guy on Bison Bison Bison paleo on Facebook. All he does is find and collect fossils all over the country.
If it's made of mineral (aka rock) then it's probably a fossil of some kind. Clean it up more and tell us if it's made of mineral, wood, bone, horn, etc
Rino horn, not the political type.
It would you would say where you found it. I'd go with a small pronghorn shed if you're in a pronghorn area.
IL, I’m gonna say that rules out pronghorn…
Have you washed it up? Can’t tell if that’s what color it is or of that’s just the color from good soil.
Rule o’ thumb, I think by definition, a fossil has become stone (probably a gross oversimplification).
If that’s as clean as it gets, do you see anything that looks like growth rings?
If not…. Maybe worth a trip to a college or museum with a paleo dept.
From here it looks like the stub of a branch, but really can’t tell much from those 2 pics….
Stacey Abram's middle tooth!
Look up Omithomimus claw. Looks like a possibility to me.
Looks like a piece of burnt wood to me.
Clearly a pretrified donkey pecker.
What's left of Hillary's laptop!
