If it's made of mineral (aka rock) then it's probably a fossil of some kind. Clean it up more and tell us if it's made of mineral, wood, bone, horn, etc

It would you would say where you found it. I'd go with a small pronghorn shed if you're in a pronghorn area.

IL, I’m gonna say that rules out pronghorn…

Have you washed it up? Can’t tell if that’s what color it is or of that’s just the color from good soil.

Rule o’ thumb, I think by definition, a fossil has become stone (probably a gross oversimplification).

If that’s as clean as it gets, do you see anything that looks like growth rings?

If not…. Maybe worth a trip to a college or museum with a paleo dept.
