What is your age guess on this buck? I think he is just a 7 pt. Thanks

Older than 3.5. Beyond that I don’t have a guess. Once they hit maturity it’s hard to say if they are 4.5 or 7.5 without some prior history.

3 3/4th at this point

I'd judge him as a very nice 4 1/2 year old. I'm pretty sure he'd start showing a bit of a sway back by age 5.

Agree w/Milnrick, no sway so I doubt he's over 4. Send his teeth in for Cementum aging, then you'll know within 10yrs either way

My SWAG is 5.5 too. His shoulders are as big as his hips, got a little gut on him, and when his neck swells it’s probably gonna meet his brisket. No older than that, and could be 4.5. How’s that for a definitive answer ? ;-)

He's over 1.5. 90%over 2.5 60%over 3.5 I'm guessing he was born June 2 2018, maybe June 3rd?

4.5 plus. What link said. After that, tough to say. No 3.5 has a gut like that.

I'm with the 3.5+ crowd. If you listen to guys that have even had captive deer herds like Don Higgins they say they can't tell past a few years old. So if they can't tell anyone else is just blowing smoke. He also laughs when guys talk about the broke back and belly sway and all those different things. People age differently, animals age differently. There's no way of knowing unless you watched em grow.

I feel like I know deer as good as the next guy, but when you see those bucks that have crazy genetics and are like 130" and only 1.5 years old even looking at it I can't see 1.5 years old. I know it's not 3+ but whether I'm looking at an average 2.5 year old or an insanely gifted 1.5 I can't hardly say.
