Interesting that they knew this guy had bought a solvent trap and was there to collect it. Is this $hit really happening?

Interesting. I'd like to know the details of this encounter. I've seen solvent trap silencers at gun shows on unlicensed private sale tables. Just take it home, drill out the baffles and endcap, and you have a real, working silencer for less than $100.

a) he probably bought it online with a credit card and b) they mentioned that he had bought a jig for altering it. (Again, probably used a credit card.)

The same computers that know you shop at Lancaster Archery know what else you buy...

Or he crossed a U.S. border. Canada Mexico ETC. Where your phone, laptop, smart watch, can be scanned without your permission. Check out how they are scanning your data when you cross a border. Then use the Automated Targeting System to store the data on you. Pics of your vehicles plates as you drive. Facial recognition. It’s all compiled and stored till needed. It sounds like a conspiracy movie until you learn it’s happening.

Mass Turnpike scans license plates if you don't have a toll transponder. Hey, if they want to track me going to the store, they're gonna. (And they know I bought powder and ammo at Cabela's a week ago...)

We dont know the whole story, but, I don't see how anyone could be surprised at what's going on in this country. The ATF, CIA, FBI, have way more power than they should have. It's not just the leftist that are responsible either.

So called " conservatives" push for laws that are violating our liberties..The Patriot Act is a prime example...in the name of "safety n security".

The real question that should be asked is should the gov violate individuals rights because of what "some people" might possibly do?

Think about this...you can get ticketed for no seat belt, no insurance on your vehicle, consuming a substance in the privacy of your home, operating a device while operating a vehicle, growing a certain plant on your own property, be observed without your permission by gob cameras, be jailed for possessing a firearm in certain states even though you are not a criminal, have your property seized for not paying a tax, have your property frozen if an endangered species inhabits your property, be forced by the gov to have certain environmental devices on your vehicle, be forced to hire certain individuals based on color or gender, ect.

All of this in the name of safety, security, or the environment.

Yesterday a good friend had two female ATF agents come to his home and confiscate a rarebreed trigger and solvent trap he bought on line.According to them they seized the rare breed trigger sales records under threat of closing the company down. If he did not comply he would be red flagged and on a watch list he was told. The event was very itimidating he said. Several months ago the ATF called me and wanted to speak to me about a shotgun I purchased two years ago.Supposedly they have the transfer records indefinitely now. I thought these were destroyed after a few months.Evidently they keep them now. This was a browning BPS 20ga 28" barrel field grade hunting shotgun with.I bought and sold it legally.

And yet murderers get out on bail 2 days after they are arrested....as long as they're a Democrat. Go figger..........

"The real question that should be asked is should the gov violate individuals rights because of what "some people" might possibly do?"

They made a movie about that called ,"Captain America: The Winter Soldier".

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

"It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions....There are men, in all ages... who mean to govern well; but they mean to govern. They promise to be kind masters; but they mean to be masters.... They think there need be but little restraint upon themselves.... The love of power may sink too deep in their own hearts..." - Daniel Webster

23-Sep-22
It may be staged..who knows these days, regardless, the gov has way too much power. It's nothing new though..they are just more open with it now and don't care that we know they are Marxist, Socialist, thugs.

We've been conditioned to believe we should accept whatever the gov says. Jefferson battled the Hamilton Ian's and Henry Clay's from the beginning.

The agents AND the individual that they were speaking with handled the interaction in a VERY unprofessional and immature manner. The LE folks need some additional training on how to engage in an encounter such as that, and the man they were talking to well, he needs to be a little less emotional.

From: DanaC

Frank, seemed to me they were *trying* to get him to respond 'emotionally.'

From: spike78

From: fdp
23-Sep-22
Dana they may have been...or it could have been poor training. Without having been there it's hard to say. Neither party really handled it well.

"So you all still think they work for us lol?" people ask that about me several times a week if they don't like the questions I ask or the answers I provide. And the answer is no they don't work for "us".

From: DanaC
23-Sep-22
Frank, I don't buy 'poor training' at all. They are *well* trained - in provocation.

From: TGbow
23-Sep-22
Vast majority of agents are just trying to do their job like the rest of us..they don't make a lot of the over reaching laws they are told to enforce. Politicians are the culprits. True, some in law enforcement don't treat people with respect but that's not the majority. Too much power does corrupt but some do manage to handle power with control.

Thanks to the Dems the police WILL get additional training. Now that crime is out of control in many liberal cities, and after they initially defunded the police, they’re going to hobble the police to the point they will be dying on a daily basis!

It obviously makes sense! Why would you want to punish criminals, when you can reward them by blaming the people that are paid to protect US…instead of the idiots that run amok?

From: fdp
23-Sep-22
You don't have to "buy it"...it really makes no difference. And no, typically "they" aren't "well trained - in provocation". Mostly "they" are folks just trying to do a job. And like in any other vocation/profession/trade there are all kinds of personalities and all different skill levels.

Sadly there really isn't anything conspiratorial about it at all.

Brian, defending the police enables them to move in and Federalize the police force..old Marxist tactic.

The media plays a big part in this sharade.. They never show you on CNN the police officers that save people's lives and put themselves in danger to protect someone.

Leftist policies never result in a positive outcome.

"Thanks to the Dems the police WILL get additional training. Now that crime is out of control in many liberal cities, and after they initially defunded the police, they’re going to hobble the police to the point they will be dying on a daily basis!"......that is truly remedial and nonsensical.

The truth is that when it comes right down to it the majority of people on BOTH sides are opposed to providing additional funds to law enforcement/criminal justice. All they want to do is complain about the ineffectiveness of the system. And the press and social media do a REALLY good job of keeping helping to reinforce those complaints.

WRT to the OP.

It’s staged. I had breakfast yesterday with two ATF agents that I know and for various reasons they both agreed it was not a real contact example. Based on what they said I’ll agree with them

From: Dollar

That video in the forst post sounds exactly like the conversation my friend had yesterday until the mention of Waco/etc..The two agents also mentioned search engine monitoring which those agents did as well.Sounds to me they are trained or coached to be intimidating/threatening.How else is the language they're using to be interpreted? Red flag ,listed, prosecuted. So every hardware store now is suspect since everything needed for a trap is sold at ACE or Home Depot.

I haven’t heard many on the right crying about defunding the police. The majority of the rhetoric comes from the left. Oh and it’s the liberal press and social media that keep the lie alive. The left tears down statues of people that helped shape this country, and replaces them with statues of drug users and repeat offenders. Believe me, most right leaning folks still believe in enforcing the law as it was written, not as it suits China joe and his band of merry men as they steal from the Americans to give to the illegals.

The left wants to defund the police, yet they are ok to send 3 officers (how much did that cost?) to a law abiding citizen's home to harass him about his firearm purchases.

Glunt- they do work like the movies if you know how to use them. I've shot this .308 with subsonics loaded with Trailboss powder and the neighbor across the street said it sounded like a pellet gun. Only problem with subs is your range is extremely short and a .308 is reduced to the ballistics of a .45 ACP roughly.

"I haven’t heard many on the right crying about defunding the police." that is absolutely true. But, by the same token, those on the right aren't much interested in increasing funding to criminal justice or law enforcement either.

"The majority of the rhetoric comes from the left." No argument here. But is it come from a VERY small majority of fringe folks same as the wild rhetoric that comes from the right comes from a very small majority fringe group. Both groups just happen to be louder than most are.

"Believe me, most right leaning folks still believe in enforcing the law as it was written"..that's may be true. But some of them want the laws enforced the way they want to interpret them. NOT the way they are written.

"not as it suits China joe and his band of merry men as they steal from the Americans to give to the illegals."...... that don't happen
