My thought on seeing the title was "Oh brother, here we go. . . "
Then I saw it was Shug and got a kick out of it.

Nice buck drycreek. Think he will go 160?

Yeah but that's a Texas button drycreek. Those buttons look huge, but that deer probably weighs 30 lbs on the hoof :)

This is what you get when a Papa has too much time on his hands and his grandson wants a “trophy”

My first ever deer was s button buck. Thought he was a doe. Dressed out at #90.
They’re a lot smaller around here….

Darn good eatin. Have killed a few over the years that I though were does. Around here, early in the season, if you see a lone deer it is probably a button buck that momma has chased off.

I know this thread is meant to be a joke, but what the heck. My son shot a Nubbin Buck Friday evening, he thought was a doe. A short track, I knew he was big. Since we weigh all our deer, up on the scale he went, 101 lbs dressed. I was shocked! Talked to my buddy, he said something like, "I have to see that"! I told him to come on over and to bring his scale. He has a digital scale. Saturday afternoon we weight it, 96.6 lbs on the digital. We have been weighing deer forever, since I started hunting in 1978, and this is by far the biggest nubbin we have ever shot. This is west central Wisconsin. BC

I've killed a few button bucks (fawns) that I thought were yearling does (1 1/2 y.o.). They appear larger and especially when they come by you alone it can be hard to tell. Sometimes those buttons aren't obvious either. I don't think this one I shot in 2018 was a fawn though.

Bow Crazy I believe you. It's crazy to see a fan weigh in that big tho. Most yearling bucks here won't weigh over #115

I found a shed from a button buck once. Technically scored 0 inches.

There are more photos of yearling spikes than there are button buck fawns on this button thread...8^) A button buck is a fawn until his first birthday, and then ungulates are yearlings from one to two years old...
