I don't know what happened to my write up to start this thread, but I'm not able to do it again now. Suffice to say it was eloquent with a mix of Clancy and Hemmingway with a spattering of Lee Child. Prime time!

Short update I should have gotten contacts yrs. ago. Pulled up facemasks and glasses are a bad mix! My bow is Elite Rezult 35. Arrows are older ACC 349 arrows tipped with 4 blade muzzy 100 grain. Release on string is Stan Perfex. Great smooth set up at 50 lbs due to medical issue. Turkeys yelping. More to follow.

So far I've seen or heard wood ducks. Jay's, turkeys, geese, squirrels, a mallard, and a farmers hound dog. No deer yet. View is straight west out in front. Pine row is 65 yds out.

Wind is light from the southwest. 42 degrees and overcast. This was all in my original Segway, but somehow vanished. Darn hound still barking. He is on a farm located a good mile downhill and downwind through unbroken heavily forested woodlot. Amazing how far the sound travels.

3 does just crossed trail about 50 yds to left. Took a pic but to thick to see the deer at this range. They are about 20 yds behind dark pine tree.

Although I'm at the edge of a bedding area, and the oaks are 100 yds below me, there is no shortage of squirrels.

In browsing the big game forums and seeing the title of my thread mixed in I am struck with the realization that, given our gun laws, cashless bail, no mail order ammo, incredibly high taxes, and ultra liberal attitudes we truly may be "semi live" from NY. But seriously, outside of "That City" New York has incredible hunting and fishing, beautiful farmland and forested woodlands along with the adirondacks with fall colors rivaling neighboring Vermont. We also have the finger lakes chain in the central part of the state. It's all an outdoorsman paradise that many are not aware of because we always get associated with New York City.

Wind is picking up. Trees swaying and clanking. Going to sit another half hour and then head back to set a few fox traps near the cabin. I was not here this summer and they denned under my shed. They are still around and the piles of turkey feathers, fawn legs, and skulls say they need to go. I also need to visit with a farmer who has a beaver problem.

Ultimag, I reside just south of Buffalo. I hunted the Lowville area "up north" many times with my beagles for hares, and even took a small buck from the area on 1 of 3 deer trips for the opener. At the time rifles were not legal in this part of the state, so it was a new adventure to travel north and rifle hunt. T-roy, Thank you for the well wishes! Arrowsmith
