Is it ok to watch deer getting it on? It wasn’t like I had anything better to do while waiting for first light!
This buck was a stud. Mounted her 4 times in 20 minutes and no slidenenfil either. Had her in lockdown (sorry Zbone).
Stayed around long enough for me to shoot him but he’s not on my list. He’s a perfect 10 with nice G1’s so I hope he bones a pile of does.
Haha! At first glance on the last pic, I thought the tree roots was his sack. "Stud" would be a gross understatement.

Hard to tell in the pick, zbone. Possibly could be some handcuffs on her front legs, therefore lockdown would make sense….

I have only witnessed copulation one time in all the years of my hunting experience. I find that odd. Kinda mirrors my own personal experience

I have witnessed "deer" copulation...8^) a few time even filmed it twice on video, once on November 4th and another on November 30th... Once even seen a buck mount a doe in January...
Many think the most dominate buck does all the breeding, as Corso would say "not so fast my friend"... Once watched a little forkhorn breed a doe the first week of November (I think it was the 5th) out on the middle of a big azz hayfield... Hundreds of yards from any cover... He sure didn't have her locked down out in the open like that, but he sure was hooked up with her...8^)))
This one was another buck hooked up with a doe in the open during midday... I watched them a while as he guarded off a couple other lesser bucks while she rested... The date was Veterans Day, November 11th... Pix 2 and 3 was after she got up and they were moving again into cover... I tried to circle around for a shot but didn't see them again that day... He was a base 5x5 with a forked right brow...
These two lovebirds were hooked up alone on a November 16th... They were actually within my bowrange at the time, but I passed since it was peak rut and hunting bigger with another 2 months to bowhunt...
Should we wait for a report of rutting activity from Mrs. Lefemine after Pat witnessed this activity and caused some amorousness? (is that a word?)
I never have caught deer "in the act". After seeing all of this I feel unfulfilled.
Just wait 3 months 3 weeks 3 days....piggies
