OK, OK, I have to confess to making a rooky mistake. Not just one but two this morning! And to add to that, I also lost an arrow!!!!!!!!!!
Well, lets start from the beginning.........................................................

Great morning to go goose hunting with the bow. 22 degrees with a light wind from the west.. I decided to hunt the large blind at the far end of the pasture, facing back towards the big lake.

I set out 24 decoys in two bunches at 15-20 yards.

Wait, five geese coming in from behind the blind. Wings set and down

A slam dunk for sure, Picked out the big one. Only 15 yards away. Bow in hand, Drew back. Release! WHAT! shot over?

Off they went. I thought I might have shot through one but not, as I watched them all fly out of sight.

THe geese continued to fly over in good numbers, and later this lone goose gives me a good glance but flies on.

I never heard or saw the goose land less than 20 yards way and to my far left. OK, OK, another Slam Dunk and a goose for Teal. Bow up, Draw back, single adjustable pin on target. Smooth release.

A miss again. Shot over the goose like the first one. Back in the blind, I check the pin setting and sure enough, set on 30 yards. Rooky Mistake x 2.

I find one arrow but lost the other. I gather Teal and head home. Across the street from my house, I see this. Tomorrow might be a better day. :)

Teal did not have a clue as he was in the truck box. He still thinks I am the greatest! Little does he know! Just a rooky! At least for today.

Some days are diamonds and some days are “stones”. Still hard to beat a day in the field with your buddy Teal.
Always enjoy your adventures Paul!

Ahh the agony of defeat! No goose burgers tonight. Hope the arrow turns up Paul. Yard Hopper hunt 6 is in the offing. Teal will always wag his ( I stand corrected :):) ) tail for you, no matter what. Jim

Well in your defense, it was most likely a bit dark in the blind ---- hard to see where the pin is set ......... LOL
Never get tired of the pics tho.

Hey Bob, just forgot to change the pin setting from last week's goose kill at 30 yards. I will try to redeem myself shortly. Paul
