I am swelling with pride this morning. A family member was sworn in as a US citizen yesterday. It was touching .Other folks were there as well. The dress of the folks suggest our new citizens came from various places around the globe . They now have what many of were born with. They took an oath To defend our country with their lives if necessary. The children were all given American flags. The smiles of our new citizens told me a much different story than what the new media likes to sell I would like to know each one better. Everyone at the ceremony was worth knowing.

I agree, they are most likely more appreciative than 40% of the people born here.
Here’s my border policy. Build a proper wall or barrier. Properly screen ALL people wanting to come in. Know where they are going. Then trade them with all the people that dislike this country so much.
One for one. One appreciative, hard working immigrant comes in. One lazy, unappreciative, piece of crap goes out.

Congrats! My parents came from Hungary. The first thing they did was become US Citizens. I consider myself blessed for their efforts, and how they did it.

I used to be a commercial kitchen inspector. I had a personal conversation with one of the area managers of a small chain of Mexican restaurants. She related the story of her citizenship ceremony. The depth of feeling and pride in her face, voice and demeanor was moving. I wish more natural born citizens felt the same way about our country.
That's great!. My wife became a citizen and it was a great experience for me. it happened on Long Island and the hall could fit several hundred people. We arrived early and of course my wife was well dressed for the occasion. While I watched all of the people check in everyone was well dressed except two people. One was a young Asian woman and another a young German man. Well the clerk asked them both ( they weren't together and came at separate times) why they were dressed this way and didn't they respect their new country and he pointed to our Flag. He told them it is a privilege and not a right to become a citizen of this great country and we expect you to act that way. They both turned white thinking they were going to be turned away but he let them take their seat. My wife was sitting with the other people taking the oath and she was at least 30 yards from me but i could hear her voice over all the other hundreds of people there. it really gave me the chills. Before the oath the judge gave a speech how his parents came from Italy with nothing but worked hard and had a great life in the US and how their son became a Judge. how anything is possible in the US if you work hard etc. After the Oath a woman from Jamaica was crying behind me and i asked her why. She told me she was so proud her Daughter was now a citizen of the greatest country on earth. A lot of people were crying that day. Believe me, my wife and her friends that became citizens the legal way are horrified by all the illegals coming across the border and my wife is from Venezuela so she knows how a country can be destroyed by socialism.
That's awsome! That's what has made America great is the contribution of different folks from different places to build this nation. My hats off to our new citizens.

Anyone entering the country within the framework of law, then doing the work, making the effort, and earning the privilege to swear the oath becoming a new USA citizen (like many of our ancestors did), and I'd be proud to stand in line, shake their hand, and welcome them aboard.
The hoards of millions doing the complete opposite are a different story.
The dream is alive, I hope your relative lives it.
Being a self employed contractor i have the opportunity to meet many different people, some of which came from another country legally. I find that they are very thankful, hardworking people. Most if not all i have worked for are also very disgusted with what we are doing to our country.
True Americans, stand for what is right, and fight against, all those that oppose moral good , justice, freedom, and democracy.

With all the doom and gloom "we are so screwed" comments that we see on this forum, it's nice to see a pro-America thread.
My wife's parents both immigrated from Hungary in their teens, each solo. They met and fell in love while going thru the naturalization process. I've never met 2 more patriotic US citizens in my life. The stories they told of wars and hardships back in Hungary were unbelievable. It made me truly appreciate how good we have it. Just watching the news. And I didn’t see any immigrants burning down Atlanta this weekend. Only spoiled, rich whites degenerates that hate our country. Review my immigration policy I stated above. Bring in more appreciative immigrants and send out these anarchists.

well...frankly it does not mean squat, where you came from or who you are.
There are MANY legal immigrants that are not the problem in this country...notice the word legal... There is a difference between doing something legally, and doing something illegally. And i'd be willing to bet overall....there are character differences as well.
As far as the problems in this country?...there is a right and wrong, no matter who says there is not, or how many say there is not, and it does not matter what side of the political fence your on...right is right...and wrong is wrong.
without going into detail.....if your swinging with the "wrong" crowd....you are part of the problem.....regardless of where your from.
And your first choice is Argentina, and you mention Venezuela being bad? Trust me from a guy who makes his living down there, Argentina is a disaster right now, and has been for a very long time. Good luck with that move down there, and you’ll get plenty of Venezuela mixed in without even ordering it.
