Does that area normally hold water like that or is that from recent rainfall? That buck looks like he is getting ready to bed down. In swampy areas I have seen them bed on top of muskrat houses

Serendipity.
I have a couple of low spots, up on the flat above my house, that hold water unless it is an extremely dry Spring. Wood ducks use them a lot in the Spring. I set up a couple of cameras over them, and have gotten a few pretty neat pics. Here’s a couple of them.
