Any inside info out there when the NR draw results will be posted? The last few year its been April 14th.
Kinda anxious to see with all the PP deletions last year what it will do to the system.

I didn't draw an elk combo with one pref point. New I wouldn't so hopefully next year for me.

Thanks Scrappy. Tried it and that trick worked. Got my tag with 2 points, no surprise. Friend of mine got a released tag. I guess Montana bound.

General elk drawn but not my elk permit. Strange system but I still play. Now I gotta figure out what to do with the general. At least I have an elk tag!

Can someone fill me in on what is a release tag, I understand that if someone does not get a permit they may turn the tag back in but what are the odds of me getting the license? Thanks

Just checked my results, didn't get a general combo in the draw, but received a released tag. Must happened during or right after the initial draw. I had one point for what it is worth.

So if someone does not draw a permit with their general combo. Then they return their tag and it’s a second draw and that is the release tag. Looks like everybody drew.

Screwed up is right, I didn't draw a tag this year when I called to ask why they said I drew a tag last year, I did not. It's been 5 years . Said call back next week

Looks like lots of guys on monstermuleys with 2 points didn't draw the big game combo. They are saying 3 or 0 got the tags, due to the way the Montana system works.

Spoke to MT F&G today. Three of us struck out on the party app for the elk combo general tag. No points. He said that was pretty rare….so that was nice to hear :(
He also said 84% of the people with two points drew the elk combo. 3 points or better I guess everyone got a tag. So MT is heading in the same direction as WY with point creep I guess.

So if 3 and 0 points got drawn, that would mean there was no benefit to buying the 2 points using the outfitter number. Unless you were in the 84% that supposedly drew with 2. Would have to see the draw report to know for sure.

MT points just put your name in the draw more times. Better odds but not a guarantee.

Preference point tags go to highest point holder. Bonus points put name in the hat more. I think MT general system give tags to highest point holder but saves some for 0 point holder. The extra point for outfitters is rubbish in my opinion. The system is messed up that if you put in for an elk permit you have to draw the general first. Its just more money for them. I don't like it but I still play
