This is my fourth year in a row I’ve taken a turkey with my late sons bow and arrows since he passed in 2019. It will always be hard but I will always keep his spirit alive.

That's awesome Matt. Thanks for sharing. I can't imagine the pain of that kind of loss. Having never met you I can imagine you are a great father and you had many wonderful experiences with your son. Well done on all the above and I'm so sorry for your loss. Please keep doing this each year and remembering him in this way. What can you share about the bow other than it's been in great hands and very successful! Who made it, was it custom for him?

From: sheds
27-Apr-23
Thanks SBH for your words. A friend made it custom for Dylan it’s called a Swanee I got it for him on his 16th birthday, but my son picked the woods, we helped with the weight and length 50lbs and 60” long. He used it for almost 11 years.

Congrats, I bet that was a great day for you both when you got your moose. Judging by what you are doing to honor him, I can only imagine how proud both of you were of each other as bowhunters and good people, Badbull.

At the end of every season I shoot an arrow especially for my son that would be 14 now. I think it's great to keep our loved ones alive in our mind and spirit. BTW Matt, taking a wild turkey with a longbow is quiet an accomplishment..spectacular!

I've been avoiding this thread because the title led me to suspect it was about my ex wife. Turns out it's a hunting thread!
