Ladies and Gents,

After a very long period of time that I have had K114 in possession, it has finally been delivered to Morgan!!! She is graduating College this year and moving out of her apartment, but she did receive it this week!

I was hoping to meet her and Don, and deliver it in person, but it never seemed to work out.

But that's okay, Morgan now has the knife, and journal and letters and pictures from many epic adventures!

I know she treasures it and will be able to pass it down for generations to come. With nothing but great things to say about a good man, a great father and a Bowsite legend!! RIP Kelly you were dearly loved and are truly missed by so many!!

God Bless,

Scar.

To the many friends of Kelly Harris aka K114,

Thank you for all of your kind words, thoughts and remembrance of K114. For all who participated in his journal and those who happened to have the good fortune of hunting with the knife. Thank you !

Please forgive me for a remembrance at this difficult time.

Son it will be 5 years on 6/5 since you passed away. Every day has been a struggle with your demise. A lot has happen in your family son, two sons married, 4 grand children, Michele is doing ok but misses you very much. Morgan, has graduated from college this spring and is a beautiful young woman and just a delight to be around. Love ya son. Pops

Mark Williams, thank you so much for taking your time, effort, the good will of being so kind and thoughtful of Kelly's children Andrew, Tyler, for Michele, especially Morgan. Your gift of kindness will never be forgotten.

God bless all

Great to hear, Scar! Morgan posted on my “K114’s Grizzly Encounter” thread, awhile back, and stated she didn’t read the thread because she was looking forward reading all of the stories directly from the journal, first. Hopefully, she’ll comment on here when she finishes reading them.

Buc, I cant believe it is coming up on 5 years. I feel honored I was able to participate in this. It was an incredible experience holding and reading a journal that has been held by so many great men. I left a heartfelt message for Morgan and I hope she cherishes it for the rest of her life and hands it down to her children.

Hi everyone! I have read many of the journal entries in full, but have skimmed through all of them! It has been such a blessing to see my dads love for hunting be carried on through the journal. He did not get to do many of his dream hunts, so it’s pretty cool to think that he did get to go on some after.

Thank you again Mark for setting this whole thing up. It was super amazing to read so many names I heard my dad talk about for ten years actually write in a journal, for ME!! And to be honest it was interesting hearing everyone’s real name because my dad was terrible at names and would only call you by bowsite handles.

I also loved the people who I had met before (Hey Joe Ferraro and John Legnard!) write in there as well.

Can’t wait to see grandpa this week to show him the Journal and knife! the knife is absolutely beautiful. I cannot wait until I have the time again to hunt.

Thank you all again for the love and support. I cannot love the bowsite community enough.

Also… is there any way on bowsite to search topics? Would love to go back and look at any K114 threads :) thanks!

Morgan, we are all so proud to see how you've grown up, and your dad would be beaming in pride. I was blessed to have a successful hunt with K114 as well, and then took it to the Omaha P&Y so those at the Bowsite gathering could sign it. Kelly would have been in the thick of that!

Great job, Mark! Morgan, you will always be part of the Bowsite community.

So awesome. I had been thinking about this knife every once in a while and wondering if it ever made it to Morgan. So glad to hear Kelly's dad, daughter, and rest of the family will get a chance to read the journal.

Morgan it is great to hear that you are a college grad and moving on toward your next adventure in life! Be well and god bless you and your family!

So awesome to see that K114 is now home! Thank you for the opportunity Scar Finga!

I am so glad to be able to be a small part of that journey! A lot of love, luck and skills were put into that knife by a lot of people that really held Kelly in high respect. Rest in peace, Brother!

Nice Paul! If that knife could talk!

Scar, how did you come up with the idea.

I think you found a way to encapsulate a hunt. A tangible tool, the knife. Actually goes on the hunt/or event and is in on the experience. Then the journal and pictures to capture more of that event.

A unique and powerful memorial

Hey Jay,

Years ago, there was a "Bowsite Knife" that people would mail around and take on hunts. I don't remember it having a journal, just the knife. I think it went back to the original guy that owned it.

After Kelly passed, someone asked about the "bowsite knife" and I just kind came up with the idea. It was T Roy that came up with the name! I just found the original post and just pushed it back up to the top.

The journal was my idea and at one time it had a custom handmade pen with it that had a jade arrow in it. A guy I know made the pen. It was "lost" somewhere along the way. No one ever fessed up to who lost it, it just disappeared. The knife and journal had a few occurrences where it went missing along the way, but fortunately it "turned up" and kept making it's rounds.

God Bless,

Scar.

I was fortunate enough to get to take the knife (and the journal) on an adventure. The journal was a great idea, and I got to read all of the entries in it, up to my hunt. The penmanship was a bit lacking, but entries inscribed within, more than made up for it! ;-) There was even a bloody fingerprint or two left behind.

@moganharris- I am so glad you finally have the the journal and knife in hand. Your dad was a was great man and I have many fond memories of him. He is missed but not forgotten. I'm sure he's smiling down on us all. Tell your mom and brother I said "Hello" Sandbrew

So happy to finally see this land in your hands Morgan! I was blessed to know your father and also to have taken K114 on a couple of successful hunts! There’s a finger print from a pronghorn hunt and an elk hunt in the journal from my adventures with K114! A man’s character can often be measured by his friendships. I can honestly say that your dad had many, and many of them are men I admire and respect. Kelly was a good one, and I hope it gives you some measure of comfort and pride in how much we all admired and respected him as a friend, a father, and a good person. God bless you and your family!

Congratulations Morgan on your college graduation. I don't know what you have planned next for your life but whatever it is, I'm sure you will be very successful at it! I always enjoyed reading your dad's stories, especially the ones about your hunts. He has always been truly proud of you. I'm very grateful to have been able to journal my mountain lion hunt for you and your family. Best of luck to you moving forward, Jeff

Due to some logisitics I could only hang onto K114 and the journal for a few days. However I felt very fortunate to take it along for PA whitetails over 3 or 4 days, and add my part to the journal. Gald to see it's finally in your hands, Morgan. As many have said, Kelly was a good man, good husband and a good dad.

I'll bet Kelly is looking down in amazement at all of the friends that he had and tributes that were paid to him. The entries in the journal must be an incredible read. Really good of you for doing this Scar. K114 has finally gone home.

Congratulations on graduating from college Morgan! Live your life to the fullest as your father would have wanted you too.

Morgan, What a legacy and a great way to honor your Father. BY COMPLETING COLLEGE! Way to go girl! We are all proud of you. I was honored to have the knife on a hunt with a young lady fighting cancer and she used K114 on her Bear with our organization. So honored. Since that hunt my wife has also passed and this brought up some great memories on that hunt with my wife. So a double win! #choosejoy Scott "Scooter" McGann

Congrats on your graduation Morgan! I was wondering about where that knife had gotten off to, I drew a goat tag for this year and was going to get on here to track it down and see if I could take it on my hunt but I'm glad it's home with you now!
