I haven’t been looking for a side by side but I had a discussion Saturday with a guy who was willing to sell his. It belonged to his 82 yr old father and it has 850 miles. Standard model with winch windshield, top and rear soft sided windshield. I haven’t looked at pricing in a long time but he said $8,000. I thought that sounded reasonable. Thoughts? It also has after market wheels.

Also….does anyone know where you can find the model year on this thing? Best I can tell it’s a 2017.

I sold a 2016 in 2020 with way more miles for that price. Buy it.

Run back and pick that thing up.

I have the same machine and paid 10k with 107 miles. It had a windshield, roof, winch and 6’ plow.

Can't help with the year but I think that's a heck of a deal the market is crazy high right now!

Edit: it looks like it’s a 2015 based on the VIN.

I forgot to mention…the old man installed and “Ooooo-gah” horn on it and he has and oh $hi+ box mounted in the bed with jumper cables, straps and a little bit of everything. Lol

Buy it Mark! I have a 700-4, it’s been bullet proof. Not the fastest or fanciest but it’ll go through hell and it’s been Honda reliable.

Does it have separate engine oil and transmission fluid?

From: thedude

Bowfreak, I think it uses a common fill port for both. The torque converter on them might have shifting issues if level is slightly low or when its super cold. Proper level and warm up is essential for smooth shifting. It's been a few years since I crawled around on one. I love that 3 speed setup with the 700cc engine. I wish they would make a similar 500cc model without paddles

Are you going to be third owner? Wouldn't think many 80 year olds are putting custom rims on their UTVs.

I’d buy it. If you don’t, I might be willing to drive over and get it myself.

I have the same one had it for 6 years no issues. That sounds like a really good deal.

Yes John. I know the family personally. The old guy bought it new and was a tinkerer.

That’s a great price on a great no frills, workhorse utv.

Buy it. We have a 500 and it is unbelievably useful. I primarily use it to cut wood and haul deer out of the woods. They are so nimble around in the woods.

That is a stud Justin. I don’t remember you posting that before?

I hope the first one I load in it is that big too, but I tend to shoot before they grow that big. :)

Oddly, my posts are showing up out of order.

I shot that one in 2019, he's my best so far! I had literally just picked up the Honda maybe a week or two prior to that hunt. Bought it to help get my dad around mostly, been very good for that! Congrats on your new machine!

Dang Justin gotta hijack your thread with his monster whitey. ;-)

Congrats on the UTV, Mark. I’m jealous!

…of Justin’s buck, too.

Had to smile when I saw this thread...as I'm pursuing a Honda Pioneer 700 purchase myself. Congrats Mark!!!

Picking mine up tomorrow in southern Michigan. Really disappointed in the lack of Honda UTV inventory here in Indiana. Decent number of four-seater Pioneer 1000s...just not what I was looking to buy...

We've had a Pioneer 700, 2 seater on our farm since about 2016. My ONLY complaint is that the cargo bed sits pretty high off the ground so it does make it a bit challenging to get a deer up into it. Otherwise, I really like it. It'll do anything you ask it to do, within reason.

This what we have on our Rhino it was made in Louisiana I think my wife can load a two hundred lb buck in around 10 minutes it telescopes out and you use the winch to lift your deer Good luck and enjoy your new ride. Lewis

On a side note, get a good trailer for it. I think it was t-roy that convinced me to get a polar trailer 1500 for mine. Those trailers are amazing. Priced reasonably too.

I picked up the Pioneer earlier this week. Took a while to get the title straightened out where the owner had passed. I need to change a cv boot and unfortunately a boot on the front propeller shaft but it is in pristine condition other than that.

Very nice! I’d like to find one just like it.

The one I rode in last week jerked like hell when it shifted. Nearly new unit being driven down blacktop at about 45 miles an hour. It was being ran in auto shift. If this is normal, it would be a no go for me.

From: Brotsky

They have a governor on them that kicks in at 45 mph. That's likely what the problem was redneck. Mine shifts smooth as butter.....and there's no belt to wear out!

45 is light speed for the 3 speed 700 transmission.
