Today, we embark on our trip from Long Island, northward to New Brunswick once again to hunt with Dave at TSI.
Edwin flew in last evening to LaGuardia at 4pm and the drive back to my home was typical…. Sucked.
This trip this year will be extra special for my buddy Edwin. His daughter (her second bear hunt) and son in law with two other family members will be in camp. (3 first timers)
We also will be with a few other Bowsiters.
Forecast is looking iffy but as bear hunting goes in the spring, par for the course.
On the ferry now, up to Bangor for the night where we will meet up with the others, then cross over tomorrow am for the 3.5 hour trek to camp.
Safe travels and good luck Rich.
We'll be following this thread and will be there the next week.
Good luck, hope everyone gets a biggun !
Shoot a bunch of big ones. One of these days that plase is on my list.
Best of luck for you all. Looking forward to the updates.
Thanks all.
Favorite snack on the road besides sunflower seeds.
Looking forward to following along, Rich! Have fun!
Have fun stay safe good luck.
Made it.
43 Degrees, windy and rain.
Now that there is a sign!
Looks like you went to the right place.
I was up there last week. Seen plenty of bears and could have shot a few decent ones but the big ones just wasn't coming in yet. Biggest was maybe 275-300lbs. Did have a couple lone yearlings the last 2 nights so rut might be kicking off. These next two weeks should be really good depending on the weather. Hardy stayed to hunt with his uncle this week so i hope he gets a shot at a good one. He about froze his rear off last week . Good Luck!
Looking forward to sharing the adventure with you!
Steve, thanks for the update from last week.
It’s early tonite and the weather was not ideal but the early report is one miss at 42 yards on a decent boar and another hunter saw 7 but no shooters.
It’s early but waiting for others to get back to camp.
Good luck, have fun and stay safe!
Looking forward to the updates.
Good luck Rich! Wish I was up there with you guys, had a great time last year.
First for me her in New Brunswick.
Two yotes at the bait site.
Bear action has been slow with all the rain and fog in the areas.
One shot taken last night but unfortunately no recovery.
Bear hunting is fun.
We actually had a lost Amazon delivery driver back here stuck!
About half the camp has action last evening.
One hunter went out this am and had a miss.
The chili was a much needed supper last night which was fantastic by Michelle.
God wills I’ll be headed that way in just little over a week, any issues with smoke?
No issues with smoke, just water and mud everywhere.
Has a great set last night and lots of bears seen, but the weather has definitely suppressed the movement.
Everyone is trying hard to get a few on the ground.
Hoping you can make it happen… Why is Dave no longer active on BS?
My Hunt has ended, I decided to head home after a week of suppressive weather however, I hear the hunters currently are having a great night, and I wish them well Stay tuned for hero shots with some great bears
3 shots taken last evening.
One for sure not recovered, not sure about the others.
Thx for following!
Rich
We're sure Boone was glad to see you get home. We'll start a new thread this PM when we get to camp.

Sounds like it was a tough week weather and smoke wise.
It was a tougher week marksmanshipwise
9 shots / 0 bears. Outfitter can’t shoot them too
It was hot eh? Our temps were pushing 90 every day..
"9 shots / 0 bears. Outfitter can’t shoot them too."
