There are a few YouTube videos of deer eating live birds. They're just grazing along, and all of a sudden they reach out and grab a bird that's near them and eat it! Wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it.

Yeah, seen the video of deer eating baby ground nesting birds too, also of a deer eating a frozen dead rabbit...

I watched a cottontail rabbit attack and kill a snake once. He'd attack it, throw it up in the air, and when it landed if it squirmed at all, he'd do it again. He was pretty agile about it too. Snakes don't die right away, so it went on for a while. When the snake finally did stop moving, the rabbit hopped away.
