Not many high fence operations use tags anymore. A buddy of mine is a taxidermist for a large high fence operation in a nearby state that caters to many high end clients every year. He said, most are tattooed on the inside of either the lower or upper lip. It’s absolutely amazing what steroids and antibiotics produce in 2 or 3 years, and the prices are astronomical.

It's just a well fed deer that just happens to live in an area with some really really bad hunters lol. He's grown to a ripe old age,and will die with one hell of a rack.

Zbone, that Samson's Mountain is a high fence operation about an hour south of me in Vienna, Illinois. You pay for your hunt by the inch of antler of the deer you want to target. They obviously cater to very wealthy people.
