My Pope and Young 42” wide bull. I stumbled onto him while hunting elk and as soon as I saw him I started calling and he let me break out of the thick woods and shoot him. He stood his ground the whole time.

Hey Bowsiters, we’ve got some discounted moose bowhunts to offer you for this fall, 2023 in Alberta. They are early season pre-rut bow only hunts but the bulls can still be spotted and called in quite often with light, social calling. We also hunt from tree stands over natural mineral licks so 2 hunters coming together can be split up if it’s 2 hunters to 1 guide. It’s not a trophy hunt, a bull like the one I killed in the area, shown above, is a top end bull, 42 inches wide. It’s possible to come across a bull like this but unlikely. We tell everyone to shoot the first bull they see, all you need is 4 inches of antler to make it legal. You can drive right to the lodge and take all the meat home!
We have one spot open August 25 to 30, another spot Aug 31 to September 6 and 2 spots open Sept 7 to 14. Our normal price is $6500 USD but we are discounting it down to $5500 plus 5% GSTax and a $530 license. Our success rate has varied for a number of factors. We have lots of moose though! The best way to get a hold of me is text or call at (780)864-7736
Can a guy add on a mulie for a modest trophy fee??!! ;-)
Haha, our muleys are booked now till 2027! You can look at them in the fields while hunting moose.
That’s a great deal! And I saw some monster mulie bucks when I did my moose hunt. Couple bears, couple elk, couple moose….. and that was just the 1st 2 hours of driving around up there with you guys.
A big 45” wide bull I killed in the area you would be hunting. I have the luxury of a 4 week archery season to allow me to hold out for a big bull on my over the counter archery moose tag. I find bulls like this every few years.

If two hunters book the Sept 7-14 hunt together we could give a bit more of a discount too. It gives 7 full days of hunting with an excellent chance for both hunters to kill their moose. We can also split the hunters up by doing some of the hunting from treestands over natural salt licks while the other hunter is doing some spot and stalk, calling type of hunting with the guide. The moose would be hard horned during this hunt which is what most hunters prefer.
The calling at this time of year isn’t a blind rut, type of calling, it’s a spot first, and then do a light pleading, social call. The bull will hold his ground allowing you to walk up on them, sometimes in the wide open or come trotting over to you. They usually do it silently, not grunting back like in the rut. It’s still very exciting when it works and it works often! I spotted this bull and then walked through the woods after him and he slowed down and simply let me catch up to him and get a shot. He could hear me coming the whole way.

Dave Anderson
Here's a decent sized bull, we kill them bigger and smaller, that Dave killed on Sept 12 on our moose and elk combo hunt. He also killed an elk on that 2 hunters to 1 guide hunt. His partner on the hunt also killed an elk but not a moose.
Dang it. If I didn’t have such a busy fall planned already, I would jump on this
If my son and I weren’t already scheduled elsewhere, we would love to come up.
Thanks guys, it's kinda funny because these spots are all booked full in 2024 for full price. I've offered the hunts to the booked hunters for a discount but they can't make the move. And then hunters will wait 20+ years to draw a moose tag in the lower 48 and spend thousands of dollars doing it but don't want to book a hunt just across the border?
Bobby Long
Bobby Long
Here’s a bull from last fall taken by Bobby Long on a spot and stalk hunt. Bobby rebooked him and his son for 2024, Sept 7 to 14. He couldn’t make it this year.
just across the board is relative i guess
i would do this if i could drive up and bring everything back.. it's just really far!!! lol...
where would i have to drive to to get to your camp?
thanks
“And then hunters will wait 20+ years to draw a moose tag in the lower 48 and spend thousands of dollars doing it but don't want to book a hunt just across the border?””
But! But! But Mike Shiras , need put da Shiras label on it, then you can double the price and be booked to 2030. Oh! The humanity!!!!
That's a pretty solid deal. I would strongly consider it if I didn't already have a Colorado moose tag this year. I'm hoping to have a full freezer.
That’s true Doug! Ours are not Shiras moose, Canada moose for us. And easy to get all the meat home if you drive up.
right, where do we have to drive to, trying to see how far
Spirit River, Alberta, 12 hr drive straight north of the Montana border.
We’ve got the first week booked now with a repeat hunter, Aug 25 to 30. It will be his 4th hunt with us, great guy, very patient bowhunter.
Pyrannah, I did this exact hunt with Mike in 2018. The drive for me was 33 hrs. You forget all about that with a moose standing 20 yards away broadside. Never have I shook so hard in my life. Had a great time with great people. If a moose with a bow is what you really want, you won’t find much better odds in your favor. Plus you’ll get to see giant mule deer rolling into camp.

This is how to make a small bull look huge! You can tell your buddies he was 50 inches.
Now we’ve got one of the Sept 7-14 moose hunts booked too. One more left for that week and one still open for Aug 31 to Sept 6. $5500 each. It’s like an auction…
We’ve also got a couple of rifle moose hunts open for opening week of the November season, Nov 1 to 6 for our normal price of $7500 USD each. We might have an auction on those ones later if they don’t get sold, we will see…
Don’t kill them all before ‘24 :)
I’d love to save some money on this one but it’ll be fun to hunt with a few friends and hopefully see some big muleys hit the ground.
Another typical bull, low 30’s.

Yes, it will be a fun hunt Nick with you and your buddies!
We have the same spot open in 2023, Aug 31 to Sept 6 where you would be hunting moose alongside the 3 mule deer bowhunters and 2 guides in our east zone. We often spot the moose in the fields while looking for big muleys. You would be the only one with a moose tag. Then it’s just a matter of getting up on the bull with some spot and stalk or calling. We also have a couple of natural mineral licks where you can sit a stand for the rest of the day or continue to tag along on the mule deer hunts, until the evening where you can spot the moose moving out into the fields again. You’ll see whitetails, elk, bears maybe a wolf too.
The other Sept 7-14 spot is taken now too.
Welcome back Tony!
We have one early season moose spot left for Aug 31 to Sept 6 for $5500 and we also have one hunt open in the peak of the rut, Oct 1 to 7 and it can be done with rifle or bow, $8500 for that hunt.
Shane Campbell from Oregon, Sept 8, 2023
Shane Campbell from Oregon, Sept 8, 2023
Shane has hunted with us a few times and he killed this moose on the 2nd day of his hunt last fall. He had an elk tag too but he had to head home early and cut his hunt short, so no elk.
September 8, 2023? (referring to the caption under the last photo....lol)
He got in there early! Haha

We are down to our last moose hunt opening for 2023! We have one spot left for a rut hunt, Oct 1 to 7. It’s a rifle season hunt but you can easily hunt with a bow or both. We are giving a significant discount, 20% off. It’s normally $8500 USD and we are sold out 2024 on this hunt and 2025 hunts are now $9000.
This isn’t a trophy hunt even though the bull pictured is a pretty big one that we killed last fall. Ones like this are rare. We tell everyone to shoot the first bull they see that has some paddles if they want to make sure they go home with a moose, even on a peak rut hunt like this. Call or text me at +1(780)864-7736 for exact pricing IF you know you can do the hunt, wife is good with it, you can get the time off work etc.
(You can’t ship meat home, drive to take it all back or just take one cooler of meat as an extra checked bag on your flight home.)
Rick Franklin from Montana got a great deal on our last moose hunt available for 2023!
Now the only hunts we have open are two Trophy Whitetail deer rifle hunts, Nov 15 to 23 and we are offering those for a 20% discount too. Otherwise we are all booked up for the 2023 season! We begin scouting soon...I'm excited for the season, we've had good moisture and good summer heat to grow big antlers! You need both.
Give me an email if there is a short discount opportunity for archery or rifle September or October.

Will do if anything else comes up! All sold out for 2023, things are looking great!!

Opening day bull, whoohoo! 25 yard shot. Guide Jackson called it right in and Terry made the perfect shot.
They located this bull out in a farm field, Jackson hid the truck and they walked out in the wide open and started calling to him, he meandered towards them and they did the same to him right up to 39 yards. Then the bull spotted the now exposed truck and got fidgety and move off down into a river valley. They kept up the calling and he let them catch up on the valley edge. The bull only went 100 yds after the shot, one 450 grain arrow with an Iron Will broadhead gave a complete pass through. Congrats Terry! And Jackson.
