Got up at 3:00 AM and went up to Mt Evans this morning. Here are a few pictures of some Mt goats I found. This is an area that actually has a hunting season. Granted you have to be a certain distance from road, but they don't mind you getting close.

The nannies had a low tolerance for last year's kids.

You can see for miles! I had not been up Mt Evans for years. It is worth visiting if in the area. Get off I 70 at Idaho Springs and then about 15 miles to road you take to top. Great views. Saw lots of elk, deer, marmots, and a pika. Sheep up there as well but did not see any today. I'd go early. I had it mostly to myself for first hour or so up there but was getting busy by time I left around 10:30 AM.

Really cool, great work as always John. Can't decide if I like the up close photos or ones with a bit of backdrop more, both are outstanding.
Good reminder to start hitting the stairmaster for Aug '24 goat hunt!

Luv it!
Many memories for me and my Llama Pack String in Mnt. Evans/39 elk and deer unit overlap.
Always saw Mnt. Goats and sheep/Rams too.
Good luck, Robb

It looks so cool there (temperature wise) compared to where I live with the 115* heat index days.

It was 37 degrees and wind was blowing I'd guess 30 MPH. Had on a sweatshirt, puffy and another jacket over it. Wish I had brought gloves. Down on the front range it is currently 94 degrees. Crazy you can go from 37 to 94 by driving 50 miles.
