I took these this morning at RMNP. All the elk I found are high above treeline. For early July they are looking good. I suspect with all the snow over the winter then rain this spring it is going to be a good year for antler growth.

Great pics John, thanks for sharing! I agree. With the abundance of feed, antler growth should reach full potential this year.

Was up there last week myself. Beautiful pics and I agree that antler growth looks great for the upcoming season! I can’t help but feel sorry for all the cow/calf groups laying around in the tundra not even suspecting what is coming for them in the next few years. First we basically make them pets, and then we release a super predator in their home that they don’t have a clue even exists. Just sad to me. Sorry for the rant. Thanks for the pics!

Yeah Robb new camera and lens Canon R5 and 600 L F4. Having fun with it. The lens is a little cumbersome running around with above treeline, but takes good pictures.

Between the Goats last week and the elk this week you have covered my 2 favorite animals in N/A. You are fortunate to live where you do and do what you can do.

I think it was high 30's. Sweatshirt and puffy it was nice. If you saw the goats at Mt Evans from a couple days ago. It was 37 at top and wind guessing around 30 MPH. Had on two jackets and was still cold wished I had gloves.
