Got up at 3:00 AM on Friday and took a detour on the way to the Colorado Bowhunters Assocation jamboree (which was a great weekend with north of 600 bowhunters). A few pictures of some bulls getting close to their potential.

The transfer to bowsite got the color wrong on this one and a couple others. Wish that didn't happen.

John, very much enjoy all your photos. Great subjects, great composition, and the other great qualities I cant name at the moment. As the photographer I am sure you notice all the qualities lost posting here, but they are still pretty damn good.

John? Taking fantastic pictures? I, for one, am shocked!
Kidding aside, thanks for sharing your talents with us again! That looks like one of the very few good excuses for a 3am wake-up.

John, thanks again for the pics! Yours are great! I certainly would love it if BB would grace us with some of his pics/stories again. Some of his wonderful stories and the associated pics changed the way I hunt (for the better) and I'm really glad I stumbled into them many years ago.

One of John’s goat pictured he allowed me to frame. I matted and framed two of his goat pics and will donate them to one of the many organizations I belong as a raffle item.

Great shot and excellent camera Canon 600 F4 ii and Canon 70-200 F2.8. I have the same one, it produces beautiful pictures, only small adjustments are needed for clear pictures! I'm often busy in cosmetic here surgery ! But I love this camera Canon 70-200 F2!

Excellent pictures John! I was hoping it might have been you up there Sunday. The fog was incredible and lifted as soon as we reached the herd. Made for some amazing photos and someone was up there with a nice camera. Would love to see those pictures.

I was up there Sunday. Is this the fog you were referring to? I'll post some pictures in a week or so of some elk from Sunday

Awesome! Yes, that's what we saw once at the top. I was so relieved after we drove through super dense fog through most of the park that day. I told my kids there were some unbelievable pics on Bowsite of the herd.

You go up 'Old Fall River road'? That were they were Sunday. I was up towards the top before sunrise. Took a few pictures from Fall River road. Then drove up to the visitor center and walked down the road after it stopped raining. You probably saw me down below the road I'd guess between 7-9 AM if you were coming up around that time.
