I'm not a big country music fan but have always like Jason Aldean and his music, especially after learning he was a avid hunter... Anyhow, what about his song/video "Try That In A Small Town" and now all the backlash? Heck the song has been out since May and now all the controversy in which CMT pulled it off rotation today... Some critics claiming it has pro-lynching and anti BLM overtones... And pro-gun... He!! yeah he's pro-gun, he's a hunter, but they're upset because he was there when the Vegas mass shooting tragedy happened and now think he should be anti-gun...
As to the song/video he's quoted as saying, "there is not a single lyric in the song that references race or points to it - and there isn't a single video clip that isn't real news footage - and while I can try and respect others to have their own interpretation of a song with music - this one goes too far"...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxUtVhfBL1k
I hope he doesn't back down and sticks to his guns...
Ironically I've had tickets for months to see him tomorrow night and curious to see if he brings this controversy up on stage...
Zbone- I’m a huge country music fan and a big Jason Aldean fan but didn’t hear about the controversy. But doesn’t surprise me that the release of the video would be controversial. It shows real world footage of BLM riots, armed robberies and “smash and grab” jewelry story burglaries. The best clip was at 1:45 when the big ‘ol country boy turned the tables on not one, but 2 armed robbers at a convenience store (with nothing but his bare hands) and sent them running! : )
OF COURSE this is not politically correct! It’s TRUE, but not WOKE!
Reminds me of an incident that happened in NorthCentral PA many years ago up in the mountains....................a THUG from the city picked the wrong bar and the wrong nite to try to rob it! Was the evening before the opening day of deer season and he comes in and announces “GIVE ME ALL YOUR MONEY!” Before he can finish that sentence he had 7 pistols pointing at him from every direction! No need to even call 911 as he was out of there faster than you could say: concealed carry! ;-)
That’s one of the great things about living in The Country! : )
Hey Rut Nut, I think he is or used to be associated with Buck Commander so that makes this thread bowhunting related for those internet nazi police...8^)
it is evident nearly everywhere including bowsite that people look to be triggered. they have been taught or conditioned to behave this way and it seems to be a normal reaction anymore. look no further than recent threads on corner crossing and how women are being marginalized.
i do not listen to much music but i know of this singer. i recall his wife being outspoken about an issue or two in the past. i suspect part of this is because of that, and someone decided they were triggered over it.
both sides seem to seek out and attack the other, and in some cases even their own.
there is no fixing this and i expect it will get worse unfortunately.
Zbone- he still is, and friends with Luke Bryan who is an avid Bowhunter! I saw the two of them recently bowhunting together...........(on tv of course ;-)
Aldean has been one of my favorites since he came out. From what little I see, I have more respect for him than just his music all the time. I'm not sure he handled his prior marriage (breakup) real well, but I've made my share of mistakes. Again, from what I've seen, he and his wife stick up for themselves. Hope they keep doing it.
If you live in MN near the BLM riots and were paying attention you know about the story of the governor's approved Legislative candidate John Thompson. One that chanted "Burn Hugo to the Fnn.. ground." Hugo is a small third tier city NorthEast of the capital, the reason for the riot it that it is the home of the president of the Police Union.
After all of this was well covered by the media- the governor and his party did not pull their endorsement for the man shouting the terroristic threats. Lucky for the people in his district he lost a re-election. Oh plus there was the issue of him not having MN residence he was actually a resident of Superior WI, which he lied about on the political application. Fast forward to this month and his son who just got out of prison took police on a chase through a major highway system ending in a crash where he killed 5 women.
So try that in a small town, BLM supporters got away with that crap. A town by the way that still hosts an annual rodeo and has whitetail deer walking through neighborhoods with huntable turkey and waterfowl populations, some farms, etc. The silent majority is become less silent...
That’s really sad to hear Tony! But what do you think would have happened if the BLM’ers would have actually TRIED to burn that small town down.........................
If it’s anything like the small town where I live in Pa, they would have had to wade thru a hail of bullets to get anywhere near my house with a torch or Molotov cocktail! ;-)
I'm more of a Gary Stewart fan myself..it is strange it's takin this long to become an issue.
If you look at the link I posted of the video, you will notice it was only posted to YouTube 5 days ago. Typically singles are released, then sometime later(many times months later) they make the music video and release that. My guess is the uproar only started when the snowflakes realized Aldean actually used news footage of the riots and burglaries in his video........................
The snowflakes would have a hard time at a Charlie Daniels concert. "In America" is a classic. Missed an opportunity to see him again as he died before he could play at BowFest a few years ago.
Please please, hunting season start soon. Guys I'm a big political hawk but lately it seems this site is nothing but political issues. Are all the hunting threads burned out? I mean the biggest thread going is about some guy winning miss whatever contest, time to start focusing on hunting and not the social issues. Where is PAT?? Why are these threads NOT stopped cold in their tracks? I thought this was a bowhunting site, not a political site. I hear enough of the bs out there and even though I throw my 2 cents in at times its time to hault these type of threads, don't you think? MODERATORS wake up!! Do your job!! Lol hopefully once elk season gets going we won't have to listen to these threads.

“MODERATORS wake up!!”
“I thought this was a bowhunting site, not a political site.”
You can contact Pat, AND one of his mods by simply scrolling up this thread, locating their contribution to it, and clicking on their names.
Seems you’re one of the few that isn’t concerned about where this country is headed. You better log off of Bowsite and get out into the woods before you’re no longer free to do so!
LBshooter, by no means am I trying to attack you but... if you don't care for some of the post here, why even comment about the threads content? Someone getting advice about a new truck, retirement suggestions, prayers for a terminal family member, ect. get rid of those too? As for "PAT", it's evident that he's fine with the numerous non-hunting post. Personally, I could care less about 90% of all the posting that goes on here but it's not in my nature to tell other grown men what they should or shouldn't be discussing. There are others who complain so as I mentioned earlier, it's nothing personal. Good luck this hunting season, Gene
Always somebody.... Yeah LBshooter, get in the woods or turn the channel, nobody forced you to contribute...
Back to the topic, anybody notice in the video he pointed to the building behind him... According to one of the news outlets, that location is the last place in America SOMEBODY was lynched...
I'm about as small town as you can get, from a town of about 900 people. I'm also about as conservative as you get. But I guess I have a different take on some of that.
Now my family and home are different of course. But I have a business in a nearby town of about 10,000. There was supposedly going to be a BLM protest near our business a few years ago. My secretary volunteered to come in the night of the scheduled protest to watch over the property and I said absolutely not. I told her that her life, and the lives of any protesters were worth way more than anything we have in that office, which is basically just furniture and computers.
Turns out it was a big dud. No news outlets showed up, and I'm not even sure any protesters showed up.
" According to one of the news outlets, that location is the last place in America SOMEBODY was lynched...".....well if that's the case that was kinda' stupid of him.
Quite honestly I wish that movie celebs and musical entertainers would stay out of politics. Nothing worse than finding out your favorite actors, and singers, have such disdain for the country that lifted them to their popularity status. The only reason these people think he’s promoting violence is because they have no clue as to what a constitutional foundation really consists of.
“America…love her, or leave her, but don’t ruin it for the rest of us!!!”
You guys make me laugh. Ok, I wasn't aware that a bowhunting site was going to save the country lol. Since its been brought up let me ask you do gooders what have you done to save the country from these topics you dwell on? Other than complaing about what's going what have you actually done to change things? Like I mentioned,I too have added my 2 cent but you guys keep going and going. Iss your complaing going to change anything? Like wolves you have turned on Guys who agree with you, but you want to continue beating the dead horse? 356 posts and counting with the miss Netherlands contest, so I guess you haven't made your point lol. Maybe you just like to hear yourself bitch, I wonder how many posts Aldeans song will generate. Like I mentioned , hunting may calm these posts down I hope, people will be thinking of better things.
“a THUG from the city picked the wrong bar and the wrong nite to try to rob it! Was the evening before the opening day of deer season and he comes in and announces ‘GIVE ME ALL YOUR MONEY!’ Before he can finish that sentence he had 7 pistols pointing at him from every direction! ”
Just curious… How long ago was that? Just seems odd, seeing as there are not a lotta places I’m aware of where you are allowed to carry in a bar these days….
Reminds me of my buddy’s somewhat, ahh, Impulsive brother who was in a bar in St. Paul one night when a guy came in waving a pistol and got laid out on the floor for his trouble…. Turned out to be a CO2 gun, but I’m not sure my acquaintance was sure of that when he laid into the guy.
I don’t know what to make of the uproar here…
Seems that some folks are interpreting the footage as “don’t try pulling that looting and rioting bit here” and others think it’s “don’t think about holding a BLM protest here, peaceful or not”…
And those are two quite different propositions, to be sure.
People getting triggered and jumping into conversations where they’re not aware of the complete context really do become tiresome — Right-wing OR Left….
"Ok, I wasn't aware that a bowhunting site was going to save the country lol."
no. only "we the people" can save the country and last i knew there was a bunch of those types here...and they tend to talk about relevant topics. no different than a coffee shop...a saloon...or around a campfire at a hunt camp.
"Other than complaing about what's going what have you actually done to change things?"
Convention Of States has 19 states supporting the resolution to discuss three issues, propose term limits, impose fiscal restraints and reduce the size and power of the federal government.
LBshooter, Tell us what you have done? What's your plan?
LB, it’s strict your choice. Just ignore what my be going on in your kids/grandkids classroom. Teachers are unionized, so naturally they’re trustworthy to the point that you don’t need to concern yourself with what they’re taught. And don’t worry about your wife when she goes into a public restroom. There are signs on the door that say “women”. So you don’t need to concern yourself with cross dressing freaks harassing and gawking at her. And don’t worry about what happens in your hometown. The only people causing problems are the violent rednecks and a**holes that just want to be left to their reckless gun waving and beer drinking before they go out and lynch yet another random black child.
So what are YOU doing about it? Besides standing by and hoping it fixes itself? Some of us are tired at the woke stupidity being thrust in our faces. Either stand up, or sit the F down. Like I said, it’s strictly your choice. But don’t expect the rest of us to ignore the obvious… no offense.
Anyone remember Mason Profit - Two Hangmen, I believe it came out in 1970, the radio stations were censored for play, just made the song more in demand.

Corax, I can assure you that "allowed to carry in a bar these days..." didn't apply to the biker bars and sh*t holes I used to frequent here in PA and I doubt much has changed since I quit frequenting those establishments.

I am glad topics like this are on this site. Without them I would be clueless about this issue, as I don't follow the entertainment industry news. I am now aware of another woke agenda I wouldn't have know about
In so far as doing something about it. I now pay more attention to local/state and national politics so I can be informed when it comes time to vote.
70pound: "The only people causing problems are the violent rednecks and a**holes that just want to be left to their reckless gun waving and beer drinking before they go out and lynch yet another random black child."
“…. where we took care of our neighbors, regardless of differences of background or belief.”
There are a few bowhunters who I wish would think like that, rather than acting like a 3rd grader and forcing anyone they disagree with to take their ball and go home.
But I suppose people will pick and choose from Aldean’s message based on what suits them.

Jim- as I said, it was MANY years ago- think it was back when we had separate rifle seasons for buck and doe. BUT, as long as I have had a LTCF in PA, it has been legal to carry in bars and restaurants .................... I try to stay up to date on the laws regarding concealed carry and to my knowledge that has not changed!
Is it really surprising that he is getting the backlash? This is the same old tactic the leftist use when they dont like what you say or think. If you're white, you're a racist..if you're black you're an uncle Tom...whoever you may be it's open season.
I was quoting Corax's post and responding to him. I was definitely not doubting your story of the would be robber that was met with barrage of pistols.
No problem Jim! Although you did have me second guessing myself(wondering if they slipped something past me recently) until I did a google search and verified I was NOT an "outlaw" all these years! LOL! : )
I see now that was Corax's question, not yours! I was catching up on the thread late last night and missed that. Sorry for the confusion......................................

To answer your question Corax- that was probably 25 years ago. But there STILL are a LOT of states where you CAN carry concealed in bars and restaurants. 38 to be exact. The only states you cannot carry in restaurants that serve alcohol are: Alabama, Florida, Louisiana and Montana. The only states you cannot carry in bars is: Nebraska, North and South Dakota, Oklahoma, Texas, Washington, Wyoming and D.C....................
Its "bro country/stadium country" music being sung by a guy wearing an outfit that costs more than his listeners weekly paycheck and he's singing about a town he'd never be caught living in.
What exactly are we mad about again? He's making money off his music good for him. If sponsors cancel him so be it... that's capitalism.
Controversy aside. The song is cringy at best. At worst the small towns hes talking about are plagued with drugs, crime, and domestic violence.
"music being sung by a guy wearing an outfit that costs more than his listeners weekly paycheck"
Ahhhhh, what outfit is that? The concert videos I've seen of him wearing jeans, T-shirts and cowboy hats that can be had for around 60 bucks... The dude's earned and worth millions and haven't seen him wear extravient clothing... If your talking about award shows, maybe he rents the suit or tux...8^)
"I am glad topics like this are on this site. Without them I would be clueless about this issue, as I don't follow the entertainment industry..."
I feel the same way about archery and bowhunting topics and issues on this site as I don't have time, patience, or interest to waste money on magazine subscriptions or watch outdoor channels to know...
some of you are missing the bigger picture. the liberals play the long game. they are great at it. they really do not care if this song gets played or has more sales and support.
they are doing this to prevent or at least make someone think very carefully in the future from making a similar video and releasing a similar song. it will have that impact and effect. for those that are old enough to remember, imagine comedians like andrew dice clay or sam kinnison doing their act today. no one would allow it. free speech is not as free as it used to be.
If you think he got that tshirt and tattered Jean's from walmart for 30$..... than I've got a copy of hunter bidens laptop and china files on a thumb drive to sell ya.
pure coincidence that his wife shops at Balenciaga while he's at walmart BOGO deals. Rofl. Sure
He sells a tough guy, small town, every guy image.... it works and makes money, but it ain't reality
Let it go soccer, who cares how much he spent on clothes!? What it comes down to is he’s openly conservative and you would love to silence him. How much do you think Taylor Swift spent on her multiple wardrobe changes during her concerts this weekend in Denver? Hope he makes a boatload off this song!!
I have no idea whether he is or isn't an "every guy" but he's an entertainer. I've been around quite a few of them that were from different types of industries. Some of them are what they appear to be on stage, most aren't. Thier on stage in front of the crowd persona is just a character they play.
He has not been cancelled. CMT took his music video, just that one, off their rotation. And by doing so his song is number 1 on the charts. Making lots of money
Whether CMT gets any significant boycott is still to be determined
I'd love to see Soccer's favorite music play list. I bet it has a bunch of Village People, Elton John, and George Michael songs on it. ;-)
I'm not sure what small town he lives in, but the small towns in my neck of the woods aren't "plagued with drugs, crime, and domestic violence.". Those things prevail in the large liberal cities in Colorado.
“70pound: "The only people causing problems are the violent rednecks and a**holes that just want to be left to their reckless gun waving and beer drinking before they go out and lynch yet another random black child." When did this happen in our lifetimes?”
4nolz, sorry, I should have clarified. The rend-necks and a**holes comment came from Charles Barkley. He was commenting on the Bud light issue. He makes millions running back an forth with a basketball, but that’s his opinion of people in rural America that don’t embrace woke stupidity. Apparently the liberals are upset because the building that Aldeen was in front of was the site of a young black boys lynching, back in 1927. So naturally the liberals think it’s sacred ground, and are accusing Aldeen of calling for it to happen again.
“Controversy aside. The song is cringy at best. At worst the small towns hes talking about are plagued with drugs, crime, and domestic violence.”
soccer, That’s because the people YOU vote for are causing the same scenario throughout the entire country. Not only are dense, you’re also blind!
"Lucy's got her lipstick on a little too bright Bobby's gettin' drunk and lookin' for a fight Liquor on his breath, trouble on his mind And Lucy's just a kid along for the ride Got a six-pack of beer and a bottle of wine Gotta be bad just to have a good time
They're gonna howl at the moon, shoot out the light It's a small town Saturday night It's a small town Saturday night
Bobby told Lucy: "The world ain't round Drops off sharp at the edge of town Lucy, you know the world must be flat 'Cause when people leave town, they never come back" They go ninety miles an hour to the city limits sign Put the pedal to the metal 'fore they change their mind
They howl at the moon, shoot out the light It's a small town Saturday night Yeah, howl at the moon, shoot out the light Yeah, it's a small town Saturday night"
Soccermomny you should go spend sometime in a small town and try your best not to be an asshole when there. If you could pull off the not being and asshole I think you would find as a whole they are some of the best people on earth.
Its "bro country/stadium country" music being sung by a guy wearing an outfit that costs more than his listeners weekly paycheck and he's singing about a town he'd never be caught living in.
You MUST be talking about THIS guy...................but I really wouldn’t call his music “country!” ;-)
Don't know to much about Aldean or his lifestyle, but the words of his song couldn't be more true.
You can get away stuff like that in the city, places like portland, philly etc....not so much in a small town...little town in PA...BLM was gonna march and burn down the courthouse , they were met by hundreds of "good ole boys"....courthouse stood.
Another little town in PA, BLM protesters showed up...so did the locals, BLM was told by authorities...you destroy one piece of property.....and yer on your own with them "good ole boys"....there was a fist fight on the street, but no property destroyed.
If it’s a fair fight, my money is on the country boy every time.
A few days ago, while I was grading my drive near the county road, a neighbor stopped to warn me that a local had been “burglarized”. I asked what the thieves got. He said, “nothing really”. Apparently the thugs tried to hot wire an ATV, but didn’t succeed.
That’s the kind of crime that draws attention and community awareness around here. Just like this song suggests.
In my 51 years I’ve grew up and lived this way m whole life. I live in the country but between several small towns. The river towns are the most protective towns in my area. I can honestly say where I’m from only 2 murders were ever even cared about. There have been many that I recall. Most of the time life goes on and most know what happened but little ever talk about it. Just the way small towns work. Not much different than big city’s just the amount of people you’re dealing with.
There’s nothing wrong with this song. In my opinion it doesn’t have any lyrics about some gang banger shooting cops. To each his own in my opinion. I honestly can relate to Aldeans song.
Small towns breed some of the best people in the world as far as values morales so on, I grew up and am now raising my family in a town of less then 300 people and 150 miles from the closest Walmart amen to rural America I wouldn’t have it any other way, I hope he don’t back down if your offended your narrative is not about the salvation of America..
If I had to pick between a small town in a big city, it would be a no-brainer. When I lived near Darby, Montana, we would get city people coming through there all the time. And sometimes they would stop in the bar for a beer and make total asses out of themselves.
The sheriff of the town, Larry, Rose is a cool old dude. I remember one time some out of towner was in the Valley Bar being obnoxious. The bartender Autumn told him she could no longer serve him because he was visibly intoxicated. After that he got mad and things got even worse so she asked him to leave. He refused and continue to run his mouth so she called the cops. Larry came in and tried to take the conversation outside. Eventually, they ended up on the boardwalk outside and that’s when things got interesting. Larry is a pretty old guy and I guess the city slicker thought he could overpower him. He tried getting Larry’s pistol out of his holster! That didn’t work out very well and the guy left in a body bag. L O L, they gave Larry a couple days off of work while they tied up all the loose ends on the investigation, after which he return to duty.
Two weeks later, some idiot comes barreling through town, 65 mile an hour in a 35 zone. Larry pulls the guy over, guy gets out of the car, eventually hits Larry and tries to overtake him and you guessed it….. he left in a body bag too.
I guess that didn’t look too good because they gave Larry two weeks off of work to try to figure out if shooting two people in two weeks was a problem. Ha ha.! But that’s in Montana not California or New York and before long he was right back on duty. Keeping everyone safe. Yeah try that in a small town. At least Jason didn’t title the song “F-(k Around and Find Out Homie”
OK, one more I can’t resist. A friend of mine living in Darny had some long-haired hippies from Seattle move into a rental place next to him. A bunch of them all living in one place. They weren’t very friendly and one day my buddy came home to find all of his tools from his mechanic and body shop gone. He’s good friends with Larry so he went and told him about it. He told him he was taking his 12 gauge shotgun over there to get his tools back. Larry told him to give it a few minutes and he would go on the north, end of town and park. He said be quick , it probably won’t be long till the Ravalli county cops and or state troopers would be on their way. He said do what you Gotta do and when I know they’re getting near I’ll shoot you a text and you can get the hell out of there. Long story short, he got his tools back after kicking the door in and waving his shotgun barrel around the living room and no one got hurt. No one got arrested either. Haha! You criminals might have some better luck in them thar big cities.
This is all literally 3 miles north of where they film the show Yellowstone. I think the producers got half of their ideas from what’s actually going on around there. Lmao Yes… we invented the wolf collar floating down the river on a chunk of a wood trick. I couldn’t believe when I saw that on TV. It was almost like they asked Larry the sheriff what he would do! True damn story!
Things in those cities would be different today cops are handcuffed trying to do a frivolous job, bring back Jim Cirillo or Skeeter Skelton they may think otherwise
Half the town are probably paid consultants Mule! ;-)

Rut Nut - "Doesn’t appear he got cancelled or is backing down.................He performed the song LIVE on CMA Fest on ABC last night!"
We got storm out...8^((( (Thursday night, July 20th)
When I say stormed, I mean stormed with lightning and thunder boomers and show was first delayed due to weather, and then rescheduled... Now hearing rescheduled for September 17th...
I have been to Blossom a bunch of times through the years, its huge (had to like walk a mile to the ticket gate) in a amphitheater type setting within Cuyahoga Valley National Park with what I thought maybe unlimited seating outside the pavilion on a hill of a lawned field and was SOLD OUT... Couldn't believe it, I've never heard of it being sold out before but it was, so there is no way he is going to be canceled or backed down...
There is absolutely nothing wrong in being anti BLM which showed its colors as being a corrupt money grabbing group. I watched the video when it first came out and saw nothing wrong with it as it showed blacks and whites being idiots. When the future Atlanta police training center was under attack I thought the people of Georgia would stand up in mass and stop the attack-nope they did nothing. In Charlotte when the sheriffs station was under attack I bought some skunk scent to drop it right in the middle of them. They would of never of known what happened. By the time it got here they had left the station.
Lol, half the songs from the 60's until now were protest songs... the other half were sexualizing women. They wanted to ban "Baby it's cold Outside", is there any reason whatsoever to take them seriously?
Woods Walker, your post reminds me of a Criminal Justice professor I had in college that maintained the only thing wrong with capital punishment was that we took it out of public display.
In 1927 a young black boy was dragged by a car and then lynched in front of the courthouse in a ‘vigilante justice’ style attack, before he had a chance at a fair trial.
I guaran-damn-tee you, if someone tried that same thing at the same courthouse today, Aldean and his supporters would be the first ones to put a stop to it before it got out of hand, and would protect the accused from the same vigilante style justice…regardless of his skin color! I’m sure there are people that would attempt to take the law into their own hands, but true Americans with any amount of integrity would put a stop to it. I know I would, and I’d fight like hell to protect the innocent until proven guilty.
It’s just more liberal hype. If they can’t create chaos with false narratives, then it’s a racial problem. Unfortunately it’s the liberals that attach a racial narrative to every situation they can. The over exaggeration of every social issue is all they have to push their own racism and intolerance.
I recently moved to Florida, and have been welcomed here by all races and migrant groups. The attempt to divide us is not only ignorant, it’s counterproductive. But they already know that… hence the manufactured outrage they continue to conjure up.
Leftist can't argue with facts n substance...if you're white and they don't like what you say, you're a racist. If you're black and they don't like what you say you're an uncle Tom. I said Leftist..not all Democrats.
Then there's those on the right..if you're not for certain things like over regulation, then you're a Liberal.
I love liberty..whoever is for liberty has my support.
Evidently, Conservative n Liberal doesn't mean what it use to mean.
The thing I find so interesting about this entire situations is how some liberals frame the song/video as being racist and inciting violence whereas I believe the most reasonable way to interpret it actually that it is inclusive. Meaning that those from a small town protect their neighbors, whoever they may be.
The thing that this most highlights is how so many people sit there waiting to be told by the popular media how they should feel. Sadly, that is true on both sides of this situation.

There are lot of people out there who seem to *want* to be 'triggered', 'alarmed', 'outraged' by whatever is going on. And plenty of news spinners telling them "You *should be* upset by this newest whatever."
Someone is offended by a music video? So what? Anybody who is offended by Aldean has never listened to the old stuff that didn't make the radio. Or Don Rickles, for that matter. ;-)
I guess I am of the thought that its ironic that a song can gather such attention.....when the looting and burning of our cities by the lawlessness sparks a sympathy reaction. The world is pretty screwed up.
According to google the nearest one is 40 miles from here. But I’ve never seen it. The one time I ate there was in Lancaster (Pa) when I went down to my daughter’s tennis match in college............it was very good!
One of the family grandchildren has apparently apologized for some past stances and it appears people are boycotting. The one in the town where my office is at has had a line comparable to the McDonald’s next door lately.
Yeah. Ok. Must not have gained much momentum nationwide. Ours are pretty much packed. I don't eat it often but I like it a lot a as was said earlier the line moves quickly
I searched it. There was a boycott asked for for some DEI and Lgqbtancdefg2 issues with some ex employees and also some shareholders that were mad that they even hired a DEI person at all.
Anyway I do not think any of that really caught on
It’s the liberal way of saying that if you want to hire someone to work for you, you have to hire them whether they’re qualified for the position or not. In other words, lazy, non-motivated, people that can’t get a job on their own qualifications are guaranteed a good paying job regardless of their lack of qualifications. If you don’t hire them it’s because you’re a racist, a homophobe, or just an all around hater, etc., etc., etc.
The only Chic fil a in my area is so busy it is usually double lined using orange safety cones with 2 attendants taking orders outside and the lines are usually long but they move quick... It's very well organized...
I became a huge fan during covid lockdowns. Chick-fil-A figured it out and stayed open. Them and Lowes were my go-to businesses during that time. They stayed open and kept employees working.
My hunting buddy lives in a small town in northern Ca Millville just out of Redding, meth and drugs has totally wrecked it…..theft is out of control.
He said he went to the bowshop last week-btw that moved from their other location due to so many homeless- and the homeless found the place. He said he drove up and there were 4 filthy meth heads- one a woman with her tits hanging out begging for money.
Beendare, the wife used to have relation in Oregon and after visiting we would drive back through CA and do some site seeing. One time we cut across the northern part of the state and went through near Redding. I don't remember the name of the little town we went through in the mountains but as we were driving through kids and adults stopped what they were doing and just stared at us. It had a very "Deliverance" feel to it. We waited until the next town to get gas.
Clay, I did in my head! It was truly creepy (and I don't creep out easily). Seriously, everyone we saw stopped what they were doing and stared. The only other time in my life I felt that way was In a part of a big city where the windows were all broken and boarded, drunks were passed out in in the gutters, and there was a barrel burning on every other corner. I wasn't comfortable with how people looked at me there either.
"Jason Aldean SUES Whoopi Goldberg For Defaming 'Small Town' Song, The View Enters PANIC MODE"
Such a clueless woman, I am pretty sure the rioters had no intent to protect Hugo, MN when they (e.g. Rep John Thompson and his ilk) yelled "let's burn Hugo to the fkn.. ground." The suit should end in a very large financial amount in favor of Jason (and everyone else who is tired of the rioters BS).
If you can't yell fire in crowded theater, you sure as hell can't instigate rioting by yelling "let's burn it to the ground..." under free speech. Terroristic threats are illegal whether you intend to carry them out or not.
I also hope that he wins big and hits them where it hurts like Bud Light and Target, but the way things end up going in this country, the hens on the view may countersue to get royalties for sending him to #1 :)
When I heard about this I immediately bought the song and others Aldean has. Also still don’t drink Busch and its parent company’s products. It’s peaceful protest.
Soccer, They aren’t cowboys. So they don’t know the cowboy edicts. He is from the SE and a singer. Not a cowboy.
It’s more part of a costume than a useful tool as cowboys use them. But I have to admit I have western hats and boots, and I’m not a cowboy either.
But my Mom and Dad would have slapped it off my head if it wore it indoors let alone at the table.
There IS hope guys! I wore my new t-shirt on Friday while grocery shopping in a small town in Pa. I got no less than 3 Different compliments on my shirt in about 15 minutes of shopping. ;-)
the thing about thugs with guns....most of them couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.I mean exactly where are you going to practice shooting in the city?... meanwhile, out in the country, it's......"see that pasture grizzly standing out there"...lean the 22-250 across the railing of the back deck....pow.....300 yds......belly up.
I hear gunfire ALL the time around here, ya know why? because them boys are target practicing. so common hearing it i don't even notice.
Thug from the ghetto...."man country boy, you wouldn't last in the hood, everybody got a piece".....country boy... chews, and spit...."hell punk, i'd pick your ass off before ya got within 200 yds of me".
Most hood rats don’t understand that the sights go UP, whether you’re left or right handed when shooting, not laying 90 degrees to the right or left depending on what hand you’re shooting with.
TG....if you're referring to my black hat/white hat thing...hardly a race card. In the old western movies the good guy always wore a white hat and the bad guys wore dark.
If you think that's a race card thing I should care?
Dan, I wasn't referring to your statement at all. I was referring to how the leftist folks draw the race card if they dont like what you're saying or just dont like you period. That's what happened with this song..they don't like it, so it's automatically racist
These videos past couple days of these 30 member organized mobs smashing and grabbing from high end stores is gonna cause somebody like a security guard who was just mazed to shoot somebody and then, they'll be called racists...
I have an idea to stop it.... Round them all up and if convicted, make them wear a high visibility ankle type bracelet around their neck for all to see... Bet that'd curb the violence and robbing...
One of the positives about about being in the "old age" category, is that even though for your whole life if someone didn't like you or what you did, you'd say, "I really don't give a ****, now FINALLY you can say it and really mean it!
My kids always give it to me to be a little less brutally honest at times. I call it being real. If people would face reality head on and not sugar coat it with all the crap now days to prolong reality, you’d change the direction of the gen x crowd from consumers to providers. Ah who am I kidding, that’s hard and would take work. With 3 kids between the ages of 23-18, never could I have dreamed I’d see so many young people just satisfied with being average
Watch who you are accusing. Us Gen X'ers were feral in our youth, no one looked out for us and we don't need any direction. We don't give a shit about the boomers or the millenials or your feelings. We'll keep working hard, playing hard, and minding our own just like we always have. Ha!
difference between the older generation and the current....
older......... I had ta quit school in the 8th grade to go to work, I worked 60 hrs a week in a coal mine, met your grandma, and had to borrow 5.00 to pay the preacher when we got married...we lived in a little house, saved money, worked hard bought a piece of ground, dug the foundation by hand , and gathered field stone for the foundation, your uncles and aunts were born, Work ,church, hunting in the fall.. but i didn't see much of them at first, because i was over seas fightin the war...it was hell never did so much walkin, or see so much dying...then there was normandy...(silence) shakes his head and looks at the ground. Ya swear there was a tear in the corner of his eye, but your not sure...cause you never seen grandpa cry.
new generation......
I grew up in the suburb, mom worked, dad worked, graduated from high school went to college, partied my ass off...didn't work much, but i did work at wal mart...got a man bun and some tats...worked out at the gym, tried construction but that sucked, got fired for sitting down while pounding footer pins in, BIG friggin deal who says i can't sit while working, it was so hot, couldn't keep my electrolytes up, shoulda turned the prick in to labor and industry, working me like that...just found out my bud thinks he's gay, sucks he had a kid to that chick he was with......
What happened to our country?......and why we got the problem we got now?....you would have to be blind not to see it.
didn't happen over night, just one little step at a time and here we are.....if we were smart we'd backtrack a little, because we sure took a wrong turn..
News showing groups of smash and grab videos again after LA mayor news conference...
Although no Gucci stores, but if ya think about it, those smash and grabs would not happen in a small town, it'd be more like the James/Younger gang trying to rob the Northfield Minnesota bank...8^)
Told my girl my solution of those caught and convicted made to wear hi-viz electronic collars, and her quick reply, "They'd just bing it up"....8^)))

Matt: "The thing I find so interesting about this entire situations is how some liberals frame the song/video as being racist and inciting violence whereas I believe the most reasonable way to interpret it actually that it is inclusive. Hey Rut Nut, seen Jason Aldean last night in concert at Blossom Music Center which was originally scheduled in July and postponed due too vicious lightning windstorm...
Jason sounded great, and the concert was great, luved it, and my girl who doesn't like country music and was not into him luved it too.. I like him because he put Rock into Country... The sold out (again) crowd was on it's feet from the first song to the very last, unbelievable...
Here is what he said on stage about the controversy:
“This is always a cool place. I’m glad we got the chance to come back. There’s a lot to talk about. A lot of (expletive) happened since the last time I saw you guys.”
“I’m pretty sure that video came out the weekend we were supposed to play here the first time,” Aldean said. “So let’s just say this turned into a huge (expletive) storm the media came up with and it was pretty wild to see, honestly."
“I think anybody with common sense knows where I was coming from. I think there are people of all races that are tired with all of this (expletive) going on.”
After blasting the media for flipping the narrative and making “it something that it wasn’t supposed to be,” the singer added, “I guess their thing was that I would be super apologetic, but clearly they don’t know my ass very well.
“I stand by the video, I stand by the song… By the looks of it, there are a lot of people here who agree with me. My dad always said, ‘Say what you mean and mean what you say.’ I meant every damn word of the song and the video.”
He also added, he'll be singing that song in concert for the rest of his life...
Yeah Rut Nut, they dropped down that huge flag as a backdrop in the concert, it was freakn cool... Crowd went crazy...
Also, after the ending of "Try That In A Small" crowd started chanting "USA", "USA", "USA"...
One of the T-shirts I wanted was him and guitar outline against a flag backdrop on the front and "Try That In A Small Town" on back but they didn't have my size, but the one I really wanted said on front, "JASON F(his Georgia logo)CKN ALDEAN...8^) But my girl wouldn't allow me to get it...8^) Attached photo is the one I ended up with, has tour cities on the back...
I ended up buying 2 T-shirts, one for her and I, $40 each... $16 for tall boy beers... Alcohol was overly expensive, ran from $13 for 12oz beer to over $20 for craft beers and girly drinks... Concerts are expensive now-days...
Said to Deb, " I've never seen so many rednecks in one place...8^)))
When you go Rut Nut, be prepared, it's LOUD, they crank it UP!!!
“From: shade mt 18-Aug-23 What happened to our country?......and why we got the problem we got now?....you would have to be blind not to see it.”
Because when you’re blind you vote for people like China joe, so folks like trump won’t hurt their feelings. You vote for stupidity, you get stupidity!

I know why it is....the statement was meant for others to examine.
I am from rural PA, Most of our problems come from democrat areas, which if you look at a county by county map, democrat areas always seem to be around more populated city's and college towns.
Do rural areas and small towns have problems? yes of course....but generally rural people don't want this crap as a whole.
i'd venture to say that is probably how it is clean across the country.
But here in this county in central PA...Biden gets very few votes.
not to take anything away from a good song but before we put jason aldean on mt rushmore we should remember that he didnt write the song...he was just the artist who happened to record it.
PA residents, just want confirm heard on the news the other day some kind of amendment or law was just passed that everybody in PA who receives or renews a PA driver's license are now automatically registered to vote and that illegal aliens can receive PA driver's license, meaning illegal aliens with PA driver's license can vote...
