Cool! Enjoyed all the pics! Interesting spot for sure. And, you’re going to try it with the recurve… awesome! Good luck buddy!
Thanks! Tavis, exclusive for the first hunt week I'm going then, if nothing arrowed/harvested the next trip down, not so much.
Sure did Nick....but with me being 1 of 6 tag holders, not a pic will be posted, let them do their own scouting and find the Rams. Plus, I had Heatwave issues even as early as 0800 while Digi-Scoping.
Ya know I hardly ever post pix of the actual animal I'm doing my Photo/Scouting threads about on the internet, to the hunter, yes privately.
I'm out later this month in the Fishlake LE Bull unit for a fellow bowsiter that drew a Muzzy tag and also during that trip, into the Pahvant for another fella that drew the early Rifle Bull on the Filmore/Pahvant and I most prolly won't post to many elk pix of bug bulls publicly but privately.
They are basically across I-70 from eachother.
Good luck, Robb
Well that's pretty neat! Hopefully it'll all come together with your old school bow that first week, lot's to be excited about! Fire up a Thermacell and lose the bug net, makes things a bit more enjoyable at least.
Thanks for the suggestion.
I do have my Thermacell in my pack as I use it while capping and boning the meat off to help keep the bugs and Wasp away.
Good luck, Robb
Will the thermacell keep wasps away? Never used one before but will be cooking in a pop up later this month… Tons of wasps there.
Not so much on the Black Wasps and I hate them, my whole arm swells up if one of them sting me.
Good luck, Robb

I just did an Update for anyone interested.
I'm shooting pretty good.
Good luck, Robb

I just got home from my 2nd scouting trip.
Quite a few Class III, Class IV and Class V D-Rams glassed up and filmed.
Good luck, Robb

Yeah, the Link.
Special Thanks to Mary and her camera artistry!
Perfect line-up of Class III, Class IV and Class V Rams.
Robb
Wow! Good luck, please keep us posted!
Love it! Live in a few weeks! Good luck
Looking forward to the hunt!
Thanks All------->
Not sure where any Rams I found/saw will be come my hunt, but I know they are there!
Quick turnaround week, off to hunt Any Bull elk here in my home state Thursday for a week.
Good luck, Robb
Good luck, Robb!!! Looking forward to seeing how this one goes.
Ya know I’ve probably been on 20 sheep hunts including 10 or so for desert bighorns with some really experienced guides and hunters and we’ve never used the terminology Class II, III, etc. and if I’ve heard it I can’t recall….. However, the term shooter, not a shooter and banana ram have been commonly used along with, “Wow, that’s a huge one, shoot!!!” LOL!!!
BTW, those three on the right better qualify as shooters during the first 30 seconds of your hunt with zero hesitation!
Robb’s always using the hip lingo. Mad props on the October avatar and the mutton chops.
Hey Thanks.
Good luck, Robb
Can't wait for your hunt to begin. Thx for taking us along!
Sure thing, Thanks.
Off Bull Elk hunting for a week this early AM.
Good luck, Robb
Hey bud, can you shoot with a face mask on? Sitka has the light hoodie with a built in one and then there are lots of other choices. Sure does a lot to break up your face when you are in tight on them. you can always slide it down just when you need to shoot. Have fun, be safe and make some bowhunting memories. If anyone deserves a ram, you do. We will all be there in spirit when it happens. Your friend, Tom.
Best of luck on this tag, Robb! Looking forward to the story!
How's it feel being only 1 of 90?
Thanks fella's, it is exciting!
Had a fun elk hunt, bailed a day early as I didn't want the mess of driving home in a blizzard! haha
I always seem to run into sheep in the OTC Any Bull unit up on the North Slope of the Uinta Mnts.
A band of ewe's and lambs with 1 young Ram.
Good luck, Robb
Well, my hunt starts in the morning/28th. I'm staying home for the first 10 days though.
I'm hopefull the other 5 tag holders will tag out in that time frame that includes 2 weekends.
I'd hate to have any of those Long-Range Rifle hunters not seeing me putting a bow stalk on and end up shooting over my head!
I did get an opportunity to upgrade from being a Life Member with The Wild Sheep Foundation to Summit Life Member.
Along with some Swag, I feel good about helping Put More Sheep on the Mountain for future lucky tag holders.
Good luck, Robb

While I've been antsy to leave and go Sheep hunting, I did get a project or 2 done.
I added my BC Fisher and my backyard Have-a-Heart trapped Racoon up with my other tanned hides presentation.
More at my link above.
Enjoy,
Robb
Looking forward to your hunt! Shoot straight!
You go Robb!! I expect great things to happen!
Good luck Robb. Have fun.
Hey Thanks!
I've been up since 0200 this morning considering if I made the right decision to wait it out! haha
Good luck, Robb
Pretty sure I could not wait it out with that tag! Good luck Robb...whatever you decide!!!
Looking forward to the rest of the story! Good luck, Robb!
Looking forward to the rest of the story! Good luck, Robb!
I’ve had a couple of sheep tags that I did not fill. Haunts me to this day that I thought work was more important…
As tough as sheep tags are to draw anymore, now I would plan to be out there for two weeks before the hunt and every single day of the hunt…
Good luck, Robb, and thanks for sharing
"sheep tags that I did not fill. Haunts me to this day that I thought work was more important"
Me too Treeline, I know exactly what you mean... I drew a CO ewe tag in 99 and only hunted about a week or so... Never filled the tag and it will probably be the only sheep tag I'll ever draw, wish I had a do-over...
Best of luck BULELK1...
Looking forward to the stories, Robb! Best of luck!
Thanks for the input, always much appreciated.
I've got till December 24th, so I am not as wired up this early AM as I was yesterday!
Plus, I've been down on the Gen Deer tag I shared my 20 points with, dad, his wife and their daughter, on the Filmore/Pahvant unit. His wife slipped and broke her leg (tibia) last Sunday. Man, what a treat getting her off the mountain and to the hospital. She is recovering well though.
I've had a fun filled year so far, twice in Wyoming Cow elk, Any Bull here in my home state, the F/P deer hunt here and now my Ram hunt....
Talking with the Nv biologist for the Mormon Mnts/#271, right across the border, if the snow piles up some of that herd winters on the Utah side......in my unit.
A man has to have a plan, ya know.
I did get reached out to about 1 nice Ram harvested yesterday on the opener. Good for him.
Thanks again All,
Robb
Certainly sounds like a great hunting season, even with the broken leg :-(
Looking forward to your sheep hunt when you get rolling on it!
Dang Robb, sorry to hear about your wife, wish her the best...
Thanks man,
Z--I'm a bachelor, it was my buddy's wife.
My bad, I fixed it.
Good luck, Robb
good luck make it happen and thanks for taking us along
Good Luck Robb! Can’t wait to follow along on this one! : )
Thanks fella's
I'm getting info about 3 harvests already so I might just have the unit to myself in 6 days from now!!
Good luck, Robb
Sounds like a wonderful hunt coming up. The man has a plan, the man has a tag, the man has a bow, the man is the man. Have a great hunt, make some bowhunting memories and thanks for bringing us along. Not sure when the rut kicks in down there but its the end of November up here. Good luck, be good and if you can't be good, be safe. Your friend, Tom
Looking forward to the story and the pictures from this hunt.
Hey Thanks!!
The rut is earlier in late summer/early fall down on the Northern most end of the Mohave Desert.
I've already got everything loaded and all I have to do is fill my cooler, hook-up to my lil' hunt trailer and load my bow then hit the road!
Antsy for sure--------> Come on Monday morning 0430!
I've been learning/practicing about doing a Semi-Live hunt, I'm still 50/50 about it though. I've got enough to concentrate on being Solo Recurve hunting! haha
Thanks again All,
Robb
Looking forward to reading about the hunt. Good luck!
Can’t wait to see how this goes!!!! Good luck
Soak it all in Robb!! Looking forward to hearing how this turns out.
Good luck Robb. Can't wait to hear how you arrowed one. John C.
Rob
I want to heckle you into doing a semi live hunt. However, if I were in your shoes, I'd go enjoy the hunt and focus on killing one and worry about Bowsite when I get back.
True that JMC!
Thanks fella's,
Robb
Good luck Rob. Hope you have a great hunt and fun adventure.

Thanks, Big John.
I'm back home after my 10 days.....
Well, let me preface this post with the fact that I am going back down to hunt in mid-December and will stay until the end of my tag season December 24th if need be.
I'm getting Razzed that I am just Milking this hunt out! haha
More at my link above, ya know,
Enjoy,
Robb
Quite the update Robb! Love the pic of the ruffage for sure. Gonna need some this n that’s here soon tho!
Gonna milk it to the last drop, eh? Get those batteries recharged and finish strong, Rob! Pulling for ya!
Thanks for sure.
I really could have used my Bow-brella, but I don't have and stabilized threaded hole on my Old School Recurve bow.
I went to a Woodshop to get a professional perspective on adding one but no way they would even try it as it isn't wide enough.
I use to use it on my 48 inches, wheel to wheel Fred Bear bow and it was the ticket for open country stalking.
This is what the animals would see as I got closer to them.
Good luck, Robb
Couple nice racks in that picture Rob! Might not go B&C but for sure P&Y. LOL
Three Rivers Archery has strap on mounts made by Great Northern.
True that Matt.
Thanks Tilz---
Good luck, Robb

S-K-U-N-K-E-D!!!
Yup, I didn't harvest.
No Regrets ~~ but those of you I text know what I mean when I say that I would like just 1 Mulligan---->
I certainly want to say Thank You to all of you and to those from, M&M, Bowsite, WSF and friends that kept me supported thru text and voice messages.
I kept the 1 VM as it was so dang funny.
I will play it for the GF once she wakes up/ gets up this morning.
See my link for more, ya know.
Good luck, Robb
That sucks Robb was hoping for another sheep hunt recap. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Tough news, Robb! I was looking forward to you getting a great ram with your recurve!
Sorry it didn't happen Robb! Congrats on the tag and the adventure you had chasing desert bighorn rams!!! Definitely a hunt most only dream about!
Thanks for the update Robb. Truly a bummer that you didn't fill the tag. But props to you on trying with trad gear on such a difficult animal.
That stinks Robb. Hope you enjoyed the pursuit.
Hope you enjoyed it Robb! Could you have possibly tagged out with the 7mag??
Sounds like you had fun Robb, so that is successful if ya ask me... As Deep Purple sang, "It's not the kill, it's the thrill of the chase"...8^)
BULELK1's Link
Thank You.
Sure, my 'Hunt' would have been over the very first morning with the 7mag. about a 38 yard rifle shot! But not 25 yards or closer for the Old School Recurve bow.
No regrets for sure.
I've got the link updated this early AM.
Thanks again.
#Lovin'Life,
Robb
Dang, I was cheering for ya, Robb! Still sounds like you put in a good effort and had fun in the process.
Sounds like a grand adventure anyhow.
Dang Robb….hope you are doing well friend.
Thanks Fella's, life goes on.
Good luck, Robb
Grand adventure to remember
Sorry Robb! But no one understands the risk/reward of archery hunting big game better than you!
Dang! Hope you still had a great adventure!
Thanks All.
Life is full of High's and low's.
Good luck, Robb
