I just read the requirements for blaze orange in your state. However I just watched Bone Collector show, and no one had any on, they were using both rifle and bow. It was free range elk on private ranch...... I will be hunting a cow hunt late on private ranch, and was told 400 square inches is required. Am I missing something? Does not matter to me, but alot of red flags watching that TV show. Beautiful country.

Page 45 of the Big Game Field Regulations: Orange is not required if hunting a CWMU, unless otherwise stipulated by the CWMU operator.

I didn’t know that had aired. If it’s from this last year I’m one of the guides on the hunt. As HDE stated, they hunt a CWMU so they’re not required to wear orange.

There’s a lot of elk on the ranch and you can make it as easy or as strenuous as you want. Some of those elk were brought back to camp whole. On a late cow hunt on private ground, I can’t imagine it will be all that difficult. I’d bet you’ll be hunting from the truck for the most part.

Yes. It's not going to be a tough hunt. A fun hunt. and with friends.
