A few years ago I went back to my woods one January afternoon to cut some firewood and there were 2 eagles eating on a yearling doe. I was just back there the day before and that doe was not laying there then. I walked over to the dead doe expecting to see coyote tracks around it. Not a one. The only tracks were those of the eagles. It was pretty obvious from the evidence that those 2 eagle killed that doe. She probably weighed around 70 pounds.

That Eagle knew exactly what he was doing....learned behavior I believe. I would love to see how he later pulled it up on shore to enjoy his dinner. Bet hes got a nice bottle of Cabernet under his wing......
