I bought some Frigid Forage Autumn quick plot and Big and Beasty brassicas mix. It calls for 19-19-19. I have about 300#s of left over 17-17-17 from corn I planted last year. Thought of burning up the 17 to save some money. Wondering if this is a bad idea? If you have knowledge of fertilizers, what do you suggest. Thanks.

Use what you’ve got. Its nearly the same as 19-19-19

Did you do a soil test to know what you need? If so you can calculate the difference, but to be honest there isn't much difference. Save your money and use what you've got.

Add some 2-2-2 to it. 17-17-17 + 2-2-2 = 19-19-19

If you want to be exact you should add 35# of triple 17. I would use it because when fertiilzer gets old it cant clump up and be hard to spread.

The numbers are just percentages by weight of the nutrients in the bag. So, all thing being equal, 19-19-19 just goes a little farther per pound vs 17-17-17
