I just got this text from Michael Miller who hunted mule deer last year with us and killed this phenomenal deer:

It’s hard to believe a deer like that doesn’t make the all time Boone and Crockett record book at 230 net non typical! It “only” makes the 215 awards minimum. A Booner non typical muley has to be one of the most difficult animals to get in North America?! We’ve never taken one, and only taken two net Booner typicals, 190, out of hundreds of great deer over 30 years of outfitting, specifically for Trophy mule deer, in Alberta. I think those minimums were made in the good old days of mule deer hunting?

You are correct, those minimums have been around for quite awhile.
I stand corrected:
The B&C minimum IS 215”……..the awards book is the true minimum. To keep the actual book to a manageable size, we added an ‘all-time’ number to make room. Similar to what P&Y used to do with whitetail (anything under 150” only got published in one book). Just some factual trivia. ?? Roy Grace P&Y/B&C Records Committees

It is amazing how rare animals in that class truly are, no matter what the species! One in a million or maybe even less.

That's a great buck! Just as a minor point, however, unless he stripped the velvet he's not B&C eligible at any score.
