This is interesting- apparently, our stealth technology is so good that we can’t even find our planes.

The memes on this one should be entertaining!

Maybe we could all pitch in and buy the Department of Defense some Airtags.

I'm sure there are plenty of airbags

Just glad it wasn’t my nephew driving… His dad would have been more than within his rights to eject from “un-flyable” jets on at least 3 occasions, so popping out of one that could fly itself would be kind of embarrassing… ;)

Kinda funny that they’re saying that there’s “a possibility” that the plane has crashed…. As if it could just keep on flying without a re-fueling…. ?????

18-Sep-23
You literally can’t make this up.

May have crashed is an alternative to someone else was able to capture it and land it.

Funny how the IRS comes knocking when you owe them $100 but a billion dollar plane oopsie.

Can’t find missing jets

Can’t find out whosecoke was in the Whitehouse.

Can’t find out who left the pipe bombs at the capitol building

Can’t find out who paid, what? 800 million for some land around air force bases?

But, you can find Boebert in an audience vaping and take immediate action.

After hearing about US negotiating prowess Canada has exchanged 5 of our finest bottles of Niagara wine for 5 of your finest California wines, but we also got a F-35 in trade.

Adam that’s totally believable and I believe you could have gotten way more than one

I'm betting it hit in a lake or the ocean and is deep enough not to be seen from the air...

Seems like everything anywhere near a population is on video these days. It's interesting.

"Hey Jim. What you paying for a few old washers and driers, a broke Foosball table and a cut up airframe from a F-35?"

Amazing how dumb the public is and how smart media is. Wonder which one benefits from the other.

“Amazing how dumb the public is and how smart media is. Wonder which one benefits from the other.”

As long as the public is just smart enough to do what the media directs them to, it should be fine. Right?

I always wanted my very own F-35. But I will give it back for a Warthog and 100K rounds of ammo.

A "mishap" while flying in auto pilot & the plane could keep flying for some time?

Wonder if the pilot accidently ejected himself?

I was going to suggest TBM's tracking spiders.

They are not releasing 'details' but there was a second plane nearby. The investigation could take a while to complete.

"The pilot that ejected was taken to hospital and was in a stable condition. A second F-35 flying at the same time returned safely to base. "

""The mishap is currently under investigation, and we are unable to provide additional details to preserve the integrity of the investigative process," the Marine Corps said on Monday after the search ended."

Ike, good idea. But I'd trade for an old F15 with long range tanks. Be nice to fly myself to Africa in about 6 hours :)

If that jet went down where they think it did, it'll be very difficult to find. That country is so thick you can't blow smoke thru it.

The thing flew 80 miles from where the pilot ejected to crashing... WOW, luckily was rural area and not populated...

From: Glunt@work

I'm surprised they didn't shoot it down. Having some control over where it goes down seems better than just letting it go.

Maybe his buddy wasn't armed or maybe they couldnt scramble something else in time.

This whole thing of loosing a military fighter jet is crazy... Especially on that Sunday, thank goodness that jet didn't make to the full stadium at the Panthers/Saints game going on in Charlette, or the Falcons/Packers game going on in Atlanta... I can't even imagine...

I agree, especially when the FAA jerked the license of that stunt pilot that turned her beacon off to fly under a bridge.

I heard the 911 call today from the pilot and the guy who's yard he parachuted into.

911? Seriously? There has to be some protocol besides this.

"OK aviators, in the event you are forced to eject, after you hit the ground, go to the nearest house and call 911. An alternate option is to Uber back to the base"

From: Zbone
23-Sep-23
I listened to the 911 call too Glunt... The pilot did not sound excited or apologetic, he actually sounded arrogant... Not screaming, "I ejected out of a jet and it's flying unmanned to crash!!!"

Does finders keepers come into play with a f35? Yes, the 911 call was classic.

Would love to be a 'fly on the wall' at this pilot's de-briefing.
