Maren Morris claims she is getting out of country music and said it’s because; "After the Trump years, people’s biases were on full display. It just revealed who people really were and that they were proud to be misogynistic and racist and homophobic and transphobic. All these things were being celebrated, and it was weirdly dovetailing with this hyper-masculine branch of country music. I call it butt rock," Morris said.
But she’s correct when she says, “…the rise of songs like "Try That in a Small Town" insisting, "People are streaming these songs out of spite. It’s not out of true joy or love of the music. It’s to own the libs. And that’s so not what music is intended for. Music is supposed to be the voice of the oppressed — the actual oppressed. And now it’s being used as this really toxic weapon in culture wars."
What does she know about oppression?! Nothing…especially when she confuses it with willful and blatant hatred for others to exercise their own freedom of expression.
When everything you accuse people of ends in “phobic” or “ist” this and ”ist” that, you confirm the fact that you have no clue as to what being an American truly means to real Americans.
I’ve never heard of her, but I’d be will to bet she’s not getting out of country music because everyone is a hater…it’s because she’s a nobody when it come to entertainment and she’ll never make it anyways. Especially if she needs to blame other people’s music on her own failures. Hopefully more like her will follow her out the door, and the TRUE understanding of the American spirit will prevail.
Sorry for the interruption…rant accomplished!
That is a classic case of "cancel culture" as some like to refer to it.

It was definitely cancel culture.
She appears to have grown up as a regular joe and made it to the big times(net worth estimated 8 million)
And because the right got triggered they are going to cancel/ boycott her...... despite the fact that she "quit" before you could? Odd how the right wing brain works.
And if you think butt country, stadium country, bro country is actually good music than you're the nail she's hitting on the head.
My favorite quote about modern country... "hip hop for people who are afraid of black people"
Think tim mcgraw while being interviewed laughed when asked how it feels to be responsible for modern country. And said " I dont think I'm responsible for that"
Want an actual decent modern country artist who is actually decent? 'Charley Crockett
Hilarious how sensitive snowflakes are to this
-"Hopefully more like her will follow her out the door, and the TRUE understanding of the American spirit will prevail."-
Honestly, I have no idea what that is suppose to mean or what your version of " true american spirit" is. Weird rant dude
She was a hot act for a couple minutes now there’s a dozen that have usurped her so this is her way of bowing out and acting like it was on her terms
I’ll repost the important part for those that are too dense to understand why she doesn’t matter.
“When everything you accuse people of ends in “phobic” or “ist” this and ”ist” that, you confirm the fact that you have no clue as to what being an American truly means to real Americans.”
She far from being a regular joe in my book… but then again, you think China Joe is a regular joe as well.
You just know a guy that dresses like a woman, shaves his legs and wears women's clothes, gotta have some sort of "phobic"
Far as the small town stuff?.....we kinda like the way we live out here, To many people think their gonna change that....i figure they got a better chance of getting smart, and when they finally do (get smart).... maybe they'll leave us alone.
Half them singers wouldn't know what it was to be "country" anyhow.

As said in the other thread, I just seen Jason Aldean Sunday night and his pre-concert music was from all kinds of genres from Rap/HipHop like (sorry don't know the artist) Apple Bottom Jeans, and Usher and 50 Cent,,, all the young girls with their cowboy hats were dancing to it, pop rock like Tom Petty, and Bob Seger rock, and hard rock AC/DC... It was wide range of culture music and good, and lots were singing to it with seemingly everybody enjoying it, so I can't see where these/us "butt rock" folks are - "proud to be misogynistic and racist and homophobic and transphobic", that's bullsh!t...
scentman, you posted while I was keying in my post...8^)
"From the first post till now, I don't remember her name... that's how much I care." Maybe look her up on pornhub...8^))) (That was a joke folks, only joking...8^)))

WADR, there's a lot of it out there, just doesn't come out of the Nashville 'hit machine' nowadays. Try Corb Lund, Shane Smith, or Ryan Bingham.
