I hunt on a creek with alfalfa on both sides and there is some room for some plots but I am struggling to decide what to plant that would be beneficial. Any advice will help. Thanks

I'd plant cereal grains such as wheat and winter rye to take advantage of when the alfalfa dries down and looses some of it's appeal in the winter. Keep the deer in the area for more months of the year. I'd also consider throwing some clover in there. I don't think you'll pull deer out of the alfalfa but I do think the deer will swing by for a bite. They are grazers and tend to like variety.

I like what Xman is recommending. I would also throw in some cereal rye with the oats. If the oats winter kill before you are done hunting the rye would provide a draw and some much-needed nutrient. You may find it cost effective to add something like crimson clover every year or every other year to provide the nitrogen that the oats, rye and brassicas need.

Good suggestions here. I like winter wheat, easy to grow and low maintenance
