I have all the time. Recently I have TSA find them in my checked bag at least once, maybe twice. They removed them. These were mini lighters so really small. Anyone else have TSA catch them? Do you put them in your checked or carry on bag?

Disposable and Zippo lighters in any quantity WITHOUT fuel are allowed in checked bags.
Up to two lighters with fuel are allowed in checked bags IF properly enclosed in a DOT approved case.

On my recent flights to/from British Columbia...I was asked about lighters. Told them I had a mini Bic lighter for bow repair stored in my bow case and they didn't have an issue with that.

I just checked lighters ARE permitted on carry on bags. I just learned this!
Note: checked bag is where mine were taken from by TSA

I know carry my lithium batteries and lighters in a clear plastic bag in my carry on. I have had loose lithium batteries removed from checked bags.

I say no to all the questions but have lighters, powerbank, lithium batteries all in check bag. Even got bear spray back to Hawaii. Great home defense for the wife if ever needed! Just learned you can carry on broadheads on the plane

They have taken them out of my bow case when they or if they inspect it. Now I just carry the usb rechargeable lighters… They are much better than a butane lighter. Look into them. They will not take those out of any of your luggage.

Consistency at different airports is just too much to ask.
