2) The Biden administration had recently released some $6 billion to Iran through a prison swap deal that saw South Korea hand over embargoed Iranian money to Qatar - despite Tehran’s increased anti-Israeli rhetoric and its loud brag about the escalation. We should assume money for rockets (Hamas claims they have launched 5,000, and have received 100,000 of them via the Damascus airport) and weapons in general for Hamas were supplied by Iran, which again is likely the chief catalyst for this surprise attack.

3) Almost immediately, after his inauguration Biden mobilized to resume the bankrupt Iran deal. And in unhinged fashion he appointed the anti-Israeli bigot, pro-Iranian journalist Robert Malley as America’s chief negotiator. Note that Malley is now under FBI investigation for security breaches, involving disclosing classified U.S. documents and also for allegedly helping pro-Iranian activists and propagandists land influential billets inside the U.S. government.

In short, there was a general Hamas and Iranian perception that the Biden administration had resumed the discredited Obama madness of empowering Iran, Hezbollah, and Hamas. This discredited agenda was to “balance” the power of Israel and the moderate Arab Gulf governments to achieve “creative tension”, exacerbated by Biden’s loathing of the government of Benjamín Netanyahu (who has been snubbed by Biden and never invited for an official visit).

Upon the ascension of Biden and his woke military agendas, we saw the following:

the complete humiliation of the U.S. in Kabul in its most shameful flight in 50 years and greatest abandonment of equipment in its history;

followed by Vladimir Putin’s opportunistic invasion of Ukraine;

followed by China’s new belligerence and escalating threats to Taiwan;

followed by Turkey’s new de facto alliance with Russia and recent drone encounter with the U.S. air force in Syria;

followed by the Hamas/Iranian inspired attack on Israel - with more to come unfortunately.

And will Biden finally get the message from the attacks on the Ukraine and Israeli borders, that borders matter and we too are being invaded, with the encouragement of the Mexican government and to the advantage of the cartels whose fentanyl exports kills 100,000 Americans a year?

Well at least we didn’t have a war on the Mexican border that will cost us trillions over the next decade.

We didn’t have a war in Ukraine…or now the middle east…in fact we had a peace treaty in the middle east under Trump.

We didn’t have China eating our lunch….and we didnt have massive crime and inflation sucking the life out of us.

The policy changes initiated by Biden Democrats are not only wrecking the US…but the world.

Absolutely not, I have zero evidence. I don't even remember claiming I had evidence. I thought my post was so obviously sarcastic and speculative that no-one would even question that I had evidence. About 5% of the Israeli population is mobilized, schools and day care closed indefinitely. HAMAS will use the captured civilians as pawns, no doubt Iran is backing them and Russia almost always backs Iran. Any HAMAS Palestinian causalities will include skewed statistics, given the fact that a lot of the missiles fired fall short and land in the GAZA strip, killing their own people. Told me all I never needed to know about those terrorists. It's not a relative to either side debate, Palestine is the bad player and that is about all there is to it.

In some ways, you could make the argument that their failure was actually an overestimation of the enemy. Hamas essentially went back to the Stone Age to plan this attack. Sophisticated technology to do surveillance is essentially meaningless if the other side is going dark.

They seem to have failed in other ways as well, including underestimating Hamas' intentions in Gaza, ignoring warnings from sources that something was in the works there, and being more focused on security around the West Bank.

But have any of you considered the idea that Israel knew this attack was going to happen but chose not to stop it so that they would have an excuse to counter attack with excessive force? Good point. I recently watched the movie, “Don’t Look Up”. Based on the discovery of an eminent extinction sized comet strike to Earth, I found it funny and somewhat entertaining. With Leonardo DeCaprio being the lead actor, I suspect climate change was the inspiration for it. But, the reality of it exposes the impact that politics, and greed has on our society, despite the reality, and urgency of the crisis situation. If you follow current politics, you’ll definitely see the similarities between the movie and what’s going on in America today.

As for the whole Israeli / Hamas war. Hamas is horrible. I'm hopeful they are beaten down fully. I'm suspect that any peace will be long-lasting given the history of that region of the world and the ease with which extremism is developed and sustained today. In the end, it's an act of utter barbarism, which leads to even more human death and suffering, which will last for years, and lead to the radicalization of new people.

Currently Israel has the electricity shut off to Gaza and have said they will not return power until hostages are released. I'm wondering if our media will applaud the effort to save hostages, or denounce the effort due to possible collateral damages? It's a sad way to fight but militants tend attack civilians and hide in ways that put civilians in danger. Our administration is going to have to make some tough choices in the very near future.
