Went fishing today with my best friend of 30+ years, his grandson, and our premier crappie guide. We did this dirty deed on Lake Fork in East Texas, known for great BIG bass. We however, were crappie fishing, no ditch pickles for us ! We did not catch our limit, but we did put 35 quality fish in the box, some a little over 2 lb. and most at least a pound and a half. They were spooky today and short striking to boot. I don’t know how many we missed but it was several. We had a helluva good time and that, my friends, is what it’s all about !
Just doing a little prospecting...

Looks fun and man I'd love frying up some fresh crappie, been a while.
John, they are very tasty, especially out of this lake.
Outstanding! I used up the last of our fillets at the churches fish fry. Need to go get some more! Nice job!
I’ve never been much of a musky fisherman but spent the last couple day chasing them. Caught 4 nice fish. Now time to get back in the woods.
I'm going out Thursday, second open water fishing trip of the year, after that focus on deer hunting
Good job y’all always have loved fishing and truthfully I used to take it way too seriously just have fun and enjoy Lewis
drycreek looks like a great day on the water with friends and some good eating!
Little break from the mnts does the soul good!! Hunt
Even though the Skagit River runs through my backyard, I hadn't been down fishing in almost 10 years. Meniere's disease took my balance, and walking along a very rocky beach was just asking for trouble, so I quit going.
Sunday, a couple of friends were fishing, and I decided it was long past time for me to get back to something I love......catching salmon! Being an odd year, we have a Pink Salmon run that arrives in Sept., and then the Coho start showing up in Mid-Sept. through Oct.
Something I don't do near enough of these days! Love the pics!
Timex, some of the coolest fishing pics I've ever seen! Congrats to you guys!
Fall Walleyes and Crappies here…
Nice mess of crappie, drycreek!! They may be my favorite fresh water fish to eat.
I spent a few fantastic days on the river with 2 friends last week. The big brownies and bows were hungry. One of my buddies even caught a rare 22" Tiger trout.
Here's the Tiger trout. It's the biggest one I've ever seen in Colorado.

Dry Creek:. That is a nice bunch of Crappie. They are my favorite fish to eat and I eat a lot of them. I still have a few in the freezer, but they will not last the winter. I need to get out a few more times this fall.

If any of you are ever down to Homer and want to check out my place, don't hesitate to shoot me a message on here. Cool to mess with and we had a great first year on our cabins.

Thanks for all the entries ! :-)
Grey Ghost won most beautiful with that Tiger Trout.
I’m torn between the Ling Cod and Hunt Man’s mug for second place……;-)
Seriously, I appreciate all the fishing pics, especially the kids, I think it’s important to introduce the kids to our passions in a way that makes them want to carry it forward. I know from being on here for years that you guys do too !
My wife, granddaughter, and myself on a recent catfishing trip.
Good eats , just finished fileting 40 sac a lait or crappy all over 1lb . Drop 6 filets in a quart freezer bag cover filets with well water and freeze . Keep a year or more but usually all eaten before that .

Wow, thanks!! That's an honor considering all the other beautiful fish on this thread.
You're cooler full of crappie reminded me that I still have a meal of those delicious little morsels in my freezer from my Kansas trip earlier this year. I may have to do a fish fry this weekend!

Catching NJ stripers on live bunker is a blast ! I have a 20’ Key West CC I trailer…. So hard to get your one keeper per person when the slot is 28-31” and all you catch are over 40”.
Love these threads... and I don't even fish;0) scentman
Some beautiful fish on this thread! Loved seeing this big crappie.
The tiger trout is cool. I have only caught one, yes in Colorado.
Here a couple from this year. Most on fly, a few on lures.

The mottling pattern on that tiger trout kinda resembles the mottling on a lake trout, doesn't it? Really cool fish
