Made a deer cart from an old stroller & a piece of an old ladder stand. Some Gorilla Tape & a few hose clamps & it's solid as a rock. Had the wife lay on it & carted her around the back yard. Can even lock the wheels if needed.
I used to have a wife like that
We need a video of the wife riding on it make sure to go over some rocks, logs and some side hilling.
so how heavy of a deer was it tested for? :)
Might need a strongback on the underside of the outer frame...
Ricky....The wife said that's classified intel.
Pictures or it didn’t happen.
I built this one about 30 years ago. 1” aluminum sq tube. Tall, heavy duty wheels are key for easy pulling through the timber, over logs, etc. only thing I wish it had was a hand brake.
American ingenuity at its finest!
The best homemade I've seen used an old aluminum ladder.
Myself, i am to old , I have an old Honda 200 2wd 4 wheeler. That is extremely maneuverable & easy to get around with. I only use it for deer dragging.
Nice! I've often thought off putting wheels like that on a couple ladderstands for hoofing them deep into public land.
Justin - I’ve seen several like that way back on public around here. Great idea.
Built this one about 30 years ago out of the frame from a scrapped aluminum truck topper. I have two sets of wheels, one tall and narrow and one short and wide.
About 25 years ago I made one from 1" Aluminum conduit and kindorf. I made 2 "U's" from the conduit, one with a smaller radius than the other, so that it fold into itself for nearly flat storage and transport. Still in use today.
Here is my son using the trail bike, converted child carrier combo during archery season. Both purchased at Thrift store and a garage sale, matched up with a used Otter sled.
I have removable handles for handling the heavier load of a larger deer.
Bow, gun rack also was in a junk pile at a garage sale.
I had a tow behind seed and fertilizer spreader that cropped out. Saved the axles and wheels with 8" pneumatic tires. I've got a ladder stand seacion and an old aluminum ladder. I'm thinking yes. Time to get crafty.
I like the idea of incorporating a deer sled with the cart, TonyBear!
this is the best best when i get back to the truck i have ramps and roll the deer up by myself. last deer was 193lb and i am 73 years odd today
I have made about 60 of them , one guy from Illinois I even helped with plans.
Putting mine to use the other day. I made a hitch for my ebike. Lone Wolf sit and climb, backpack and decoy in the cart and bow on a homemade rack on the bike. My cart also folds flat for storage and transport.
Happy Birthday Steve! I like that design! Pull it up, ride it down and paddle it across!
Cart worked great. Went over logs & everything just fine. Got to truck & just put the end of the cart on the tailgate & lifted the back end by the middle of the axle & it slid right in. Easiest load in I've had in a while!
Nice shot and deer. Love it when a plan comes together.
