This is a pretty scary description of our president, and seems like possibly a political hit job.

Over my career, I've cared for a number of people with dementia who withered from well-functioning people on down to completely senile and then dead.
I've been saying it since he was running in 2019 that he doesn't have 8 years in him. He needs 5 years to see out another term. He'll need help dressing himself 5 years from now if he's still alive.
He's not fit to run for president not just due to his age, but because he has dementia.

The Dem's are going to keep Joe in race collecting delegates. Once the DNC has enough they will find a way to give them to whomever they want. They cant open the Primary up now as anyone in that party would have have to run to the far left killing any chance they may have. They cant have 10 folks on stage saying "free free free everything for illegals and mass amnesty". Then, its over whomever wins a contested short primary even giving away Joe's already won delegates.
Now, Joe could be removed by the 25th Amendment if he's gets worse sooner, then you have a sitting Harris POTUS who cant pull 2% of the Dem Party. Joe could resign setting up Harris again. No, I think Joe stays until convention and they snatch his delegates.
Joe had a horrible day yesterday and Trump had a very good one. The finding from the DOJ was worded in a way that was a huge help for Trump. H easily will expound that Joe is unfit to serve and the majority of the nation now agrees.
The last match up came down to what 45,000 votes in four or five swing states all of which trump holds good leads in. The RNC will be solidly behind Trump when Haley is dispatched a few short weeks. The Dems now will be in the spotlight and it will be backroom dealing to rid themselves of Biden. Just politics of today. In 1790's they dueled it out. Not sure which was a better solution.

I've no issues with Bidens age or memory. I mean, at least he has helped get some big and positive things done (infrastructure bill, medicine price adjustments, tech investment, best economy on earth post pandemic, etc) and doesn't think Nikki Haley was speaker of the house, that the woman he was found liable of sexually assaulting is his first wife, or that "Nancy Pelosi caused in insurrection" (his words RE J6) among many other DJT classics.
Plus, with an old senile guy like Biden, we have someone so capable they can fix the NFL season and give us Taylor and Travis.

People age differently, I understand that... My dad is 86 and I see him probably about once a month or maybe 8 to 10 times a year and every time he tells me the same ole 5 stories over and over again.... I'm thinking, Dad you've had a long life surely you have different stories to tell, but I just nod my head yes and just listen to them....
And my mom is will be 85 in April and I'm sure she's in like in stage 2 of Alzheimer's, but she's in denial but her mother and 3 aunts died from it, but she won't go to the Dr's to get checked... My daughter is a registered nurse and she's sure she's got it and tries to tell her they now have medication that can slow it down but she refuses... Heck I can't get neither parent to learn how to text so I can check on them daily, they absolutely refuse, both of them... Both were quick and smart people when younger, but there is no way at their age they could have a stressful job, especially as important as leader of our country... In all seriousness, there should be an age limit on ALL government elected officials...

My Dad is 95,I would trust his judgment more than a lot of folks 50 years younger than he is.
Think of our presidents brain as a V8 engine, I’d say he probably has 1 cylinder with really low compression. It’s misfiring all the time. That’s on a good day. On a bad day he’s got a couple other cylinders with severe misfires as well.
I don’t see how anyone could objectively watch his press conference yesterday, and other recent public appearances without having VERY VERY serious concerns.
If a person thinks his motor is running fine, they have a few misfires themselves.

The Dems have put themself in this no win situation because they had TDS and rigged the Democrat primary so Biden won since they were afraid of Bernie. Then Clyburn pushed Biden to pick a black women VP and they are stuck with Harris. if the don't give it to Harris then the black women won't vote feeling scorned and if they convince Michelle I hate the US to run i think a lot of union voters will vote for trump.
Not everyone ages at the same rate. My grandpa was still living on his own at 98 and doing fine. I've seen people who drank their entire lives that were unable to function in their mid-sixties even though they were off the sauce because they pickled their brains.
And remember, dementia is age-related, but it's also a disease process with multiple causes.
While cognition declines with age for everyone, the presence of a disease process (a disease causing dementia) changes everything and makes the person's age only part of the picture.
There's more going on here than just him being 82. Listen to him talk and look at the way he walks. He's declining rapidly. He doesn't have 5 years left in him. I've watched it happen numerous times over my career.
It's not necessarily that he's "too old" to be POTUS, although that argument can be made separately. It's that he has a disease that is attacking executive function and cognition and he has, arguably, the most important job in the world that requires said executive function.

Mom was 99 before her battle (the third) with cancer finally got her. Was more awake and aware than Biden on her worst day. Living through the Depression on a farm, WWII, presidential and other political assassinations, polio, numerous pandemics, the Cold War et. al-stated before her death almost 2 years ago that current politics (and the stupid pandemic) was the worst nonsense she had ever seen.

The silver lining in all this is apparently it doesn't matter to our potential aggressors whether the US president is on the ball or not. Something else is the deterrent thank goodness.
I wonder what Dr. O'Conner uses as justification for not doing any testing. It's fast and non-invasive to do things like a MMSE or any of the other screening tests that check cognition and memory. We err on the side of running tests like this. We do them all the time - especially if there are signs of deficits, as there are.
We have a saying in medicine: Don't take a temperature if you don't want to find a fever. Another version is: Never order a test that you don't want to see the results of.

Losing a child and then using it for political gain I have an issue with. Back in the 70s my Dad was truck driver. When Joe lost his first wife and son he blamed it on the trucker and tried to label all truck drivers as drunks who had liquid lunches. Even though it was proven that Mr. Dodd the truck driver in the accident- was likely the first man on the scene to help the Biden family and Ms Biden may have committed a driving error causing the accident.
